We cannot pick a reception site.

We really need to try and get down to Florida to make up our minds... but need to have everything booked in the next month and that may not happen. (I'm watching Southwest though for cheap flights.... DING!)

So we need help. Here is what we're looking for...
----seating for approx 50 people (40 adults, 10 kids)
----natural light
----dance floor and room for a dj
----nothing too small
----nothing too big we'll look stupid or lost in!

I think our biggest hang up is finding something perfect for 50 people without being crowded or lost looking. Suggestions are welcome :yay:

I totally agree! The Whitehall Room is perfect for 50 people and you get so much natural light. You even have access to the terrace to use for cocktail tables or dancing if you like!

I agree on Whitehall! Just do something about those horrific birds! :lmao:

sigh. I would love to know what you pick. We are 60 and I have the same problem.

We are booked for dinner at the Napa room for the first night and I know some people also book the sonoma room for a dance floor.

The only thing I have found so far that we think we like is the living seas salon.

I can't remember where is your ceremony? What time of year is your wedding?

I think it would be kind of cool to do something unusual at MGM (sorry I will never call it the studios...). They can do dinner and dancing in the TOT courtyard and you could do dinner with dancing under the hat. If you have a favorite ride there there is a good chance that they can incorporate it into the evening. The only negative is that you have to wait two hours past when the attraction closes for the evening. It might also be fun to do something in the muppets courtyard.

I would totally go with one of those for ours but I fear its going to be too cold to be outside for long periods of time when we are there. Also if you are into Beauty and the Beast they have a really really cool package for that stage that starts at 8pm. Negative is that there is no room for dancing.

I think I responded to you in another thread, but depending on the time of day, Citrico's or Narcoossee's are good choices, too.

we had the whitehall room and its lovely so I vote for that, ok we didnt have 50 people but the room can look so pretty, here is our set up

I think it was me you replied to :goodvibes- I was looking for an alternative to the whitehall.

TiggerificSox,
Just a warning re: Whitehall. I was told by my sales co-ordinator that 50 ppl would probably be too much for the whitehall. She's telling me that it'll only hold 40 ppl if I want a DJ & dance floor. I'm currently holding my ground on it as ppl here have told me that it does hold 50. So be prepared and good luck :thumbsup2

Oh by the way - I vote Whitehall too! I'm also considering St James if I HAVE to move from Whitehall.

If you are looking for an afternoon wedding with lots of Daylight- how about the California Grill? (Not Napa or Sonoma) but the real deal- main dining room. There is a time limit so the restaurant can open at night. LOTS of daylight and the view can't be beat.
