I am planning our Christmas trip to Disneyland, and I just can't seem to decide where we should stay!

We are staying on site and I personally don't like the GC (I know *gasp*).
We have stayed at the DLH and I LOVE it. We have never stayed at the PPH.

So here are our options. We can stay at the DLH Theme Park view or we can stay at the PPH Concierge (upper theme park view) For an extra $250.00.

So I guess I am just looking to see what other people would do?
For people who have stayed at the PPH how did you like it? Is there a big difference between the two? Would you stay at concierge at PPH or have a theme park view for DLH? Which would you prefer?

TIA!

Well, will you use the Concierge enough to make it worth for you? The Themepark views are nice at the PPH. The rooms are big and spacious. My big reason for not going back this year is solely the elevator. You wouldn't have this issue on the Concierge elevator though.
We would of done the GC, but DS7 wanted one last chance to use the NLP.
We are also getting a resort view. It really isn't the Themeparkview you would get at the PP. But more of DTD with DL and CAP in the distance.
It is a tough decision. The PPH does offer great views, the Christmas Tree is done in a sea theme. You still get the carolers here too. The pool and spa aren't themed like the NLP, but it does have a waterslide. I have stayed at both during Christmas time and I feel like the DLH feels more Christmassy to me. Also, the DTD is beautiful this time of year too.

Having stayed at the PPH and having been inside it on an upper floor, visiting friends a few weeks ago, I can confirm that the Theme park View for most of the building is of the Paradise Pier area of the park. The DLH is the one with park view in the distance.

With an upper floor room at Paradise Pier, you will be able to watch the later World of Color shows from your room with piped in music. It's a back view, but is a good view of the main projection water screen, and you will be able to see the scenes from the rear. If this is something you would enjoy - I would recommend the PPH. The rooms are nice and very comfortable.

BTW - Grand Californian viewing platform - nice upper view of the fountains, but no view of the main projection water screen.

Now the benefit of the DLH rooms with theme park view is that they are now all the new remodeled design. New, fresh. Fiber optic fireworks in the giant headboard.

Your choice!

The only negative thing I can say about PPH is that the elevators (all 3 of them) are very, very slow! Other than that, we had a really nice experience there! Kids love the slide! I loved falling asleep listening to a princess telling a story! princess: Much better than listening to news anyday!:thumbsup2

I really like PPH. I haven't stayed in a new remolded room at the DLH yet, but I like the rooms and the beach theme of the hotel. And I agree, the theme park view is SO MUCH BETTER at PPH then at DLH. The one thing I liked about theme park view at DLH was that you could see the fireworks, but with WoC now, that advantage no longer really matters.

I do have to say thought that PPH, IMO, doesn't have quite as strong of that "Disney feeling" when you first enter as DLH does.

Yea this is where I stopped reading! J/K Go for the DLH! and use the $250 you save to do a character meal, WOC dinner, or a Fantasmic Desert seating! :thumbsup2

Thanks all! I am leaning toward DLH because I just love it there. It feels really Disney to me. I know they are dong construction right now, but I still think that might be the best choice for us.
The only reason I am even considering PPH is because of the concierge. We have never done it before.

But I *think* (from what I have heard) that the DLH will have more of a Christmas theme than PPH. WEll, thats what the cast member on the phone said anyway.

We have stayed at both places many times during Christmastime. You are exactly right. DLH really does it up. The PP is very low key, in comparison.
