My family (my wife and 2 teenage children) is going to Disney in March. We are on the Disney Dining Plan and I currently have too many reservations. I am looking to cut back on a Character Breakfast. I have 4 reserved - all are breakfast buffets. We still love being with the characters so the experience with the Characters is important.

Here are the choices
1. Tusker House
2. 1900 Park Fare
3. 'Ohana
4. Cape May Cafe

Help me choose the best family breakfast with the best Character experiences (i.e - picture taking opportunities, variety of characters)

Thanks in advance

We are big fans of character meals and our teens love them as well. From your list, 1900 Park Fare is our favorite : )

Out of your choices, our favorite is Cape May......we eat there at least once every trip :goodvibes.

Well, our favorite isn't on your list!! My vote would be for Crystal Palace, so I guess I'm no help to you, but I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you go :thumbsup2

1. Cape May (both food and character experience were great)
2. Tusker House (food was great, characters were cute but not as much time spent)
3. 1900 PF (I like the characters, even though they were rushed, disliked the food, pop food court breakfast food was waaaay better)
4. Never been to Ohana breakfast. There isn't much variety in the food and I'm not interested in Lilo and Stitch

I should have added that we have reservations for these for lunch or dinner as well

1. Chef Mickey's
2. Crystal Palace
3. 50's Prime Time
4. Boma

Thanks again

1. Ohana-best breakfast food & characters were fun
2. Tusker House-nice atmosphere & more variety in food
3. 1900 PF-different characters in Mary Poppins, Alice, & Mad Hatter
4. Cape May--this is the only character meal we didn't go to so I can't help you here

My order would be:
Cape May
Tusker House
Ohana
Park Fare

We've done all of them. We book Cape May and Tusker House every time.

have been to all but Ohana's ( my friend really enjoyed it though)

so my pick for Most character interaction with my kids would be Grand Fla, Alice and the Mad Hatter were fantastic, the food though is not my fav. My kids were sketching in their notebooks, ( they love to make stories) and Alice actually sat with myson who is 8 and daughter who is 11 and talked to them about all her drawing and stories, even though they are not that much into characters anymore they thought that was fantastic and didnt stop talking about it all day.

for best meal and fun character interaction would be Tusker House, scheduling again this year just for the food

Cape May is also good for characters, they do take their time with you and food in enjoyable as well.

How much is the character breakfast at Tusker House? I have that booked on Feb 26th.. Cant wait!!

We just got back Sat. and I would say don't look too forward to Tusker House. It was hands down the worst character dining experience that we had. Our reservation was for 8:55. We were given a pager and our name didn't get called until 9:40! We were then escorted to wait in a long line to have a picture with Donald. The food was fine, nothing to get excited about. Mickey never came to our table, we saw Goofy twice and did the parade twice. Daisy came when everyone was up getting their food. I had to hunt Mickey down so I could get a picture and the kids could get autographs. It seemed like Tusker House was really new at the whole character dining thing, but I know that's not the case. It was disappointing and we won't be going back. It was just very unDisney like.

We also went to Crystal Palace and the Akershus Princess breakfast. Both had very good character interaction and food. Akershus in particular does it up very nicely.

Cape May Cafe is our favorite. Have been there several times with teenagers. It is their favorite too.
It may be more difficult to get to if you are not staying around Crescent Lake

I have 1900 PF booked for breakfast this trip, but haven't tried it yet. DD loves Mad Hatter and Alice, so that's why I picked it.
Did Cape May last year and loved it - food was wonderful, characters came by and didn't seem rushed. It was easy to get to - just go through Epcot into World Showcase past United Kingdom and walk over through International Gateway - 2 minute walk from the exit. And so nice to stroll back into Epcot afterwards!

We have been to all the character meals that you have listed. We like Cape May Cafe the best! The food and service is good and good variety of characters and also Cape May Cafe (inside the Beach Resort) is close to Epcot and Hollywood studios. :)

Love Cape May! One of my favs, but my fav is def Crystal Palace :)
But then other than that I have also enjoyed Park Fare and Tusker House, but not a big fan of Ohana.

We've been to a lot of character breakfasts. My kids are now teens and they still always request the character breakfasts.

My faves are: 1. 1900 Park Faire
2. Ohana
3. Crystal Palace
4. Tusker House- we loved getting into the AK early
If you asked my kids, they would probably say:
1. Tusker House
2. Crystal Palace
3. Ohana
4. 1900 Park Faire- I have all boys so this is probably why they're not all that interested in the characters here.

You don't have my two fav's Chrystal Palace and Akerhaus, but of the ones you have I would totally vote for 1900 Park Fare. However, between breakfast or dinner, there we would choose dinner. We also really liked Tusker House. Happy Dining!

All of the ones you have listed are good! Tusker House is one of our favorites, but I will say that we always make the earliest reservation there--8am for a 9am opening. And we make sure to arrive plenty early (at least by 7:40) to make sure we are one of the earliest to check in. Since the other 3 are all at resorts, I would base it on where you are staying or your park plans. We really like Cape May, but I would only eat there if I were staying in the Epcot area, or if it was a non-park day, or if you have several days planned at Epcot. We do always eat there when we stay at the Beach Club and it is great! With Ohana and 1900 Park Fare, I would say the same thing--I would probably only eat there if you are staying in the MK area, or on a non-park day, or if you are planning more than 1 morning in the MK. They are both great (we probably prefer 1900 Park Fare) but it isn't worth the travel time unless you are on a fairly long trip, IMO.

I really like Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. I love seeing Mickey and the Gang in the Safari gear, too cute!

Hard decision, all of these are good. Maybe bag the Tusker House breakfast since you will see almost the same cast of characters at Chef Mickey's for dinner. (Even though the "jungle juice" at this breakfast is sooo good.)
