Help me choose a CD cover!

Which photo for my new CD cover?

Looks like I'm too late, but I like #2.

#1 the bright yellow flowers in the background draw my eye away from you, and they are in focus too - wouldn't be as bad if they were out of focus. Lighting isn't as good either - you are in shadow.

#2 better lighting, and the background doesn't detract from the picture. It's slightly out of focus, which helps.

I say #2 as well. I think it's more youthful looking - I agree with the above poster that you look older in shot #1.

Um, thanks for the advice. I hope I'm reading this wrong, as things in posts/emails/etc. can sometimes come across as harsh when they're not meant to be.

I have no training as a model or a photographer - I have two degrees in classical voice. Sadly, I'm really short, and there's really nothing I could do to make myself look tall. (Don't I wish!) My photographer is pretty darn good considering she's a great friend and doesn't charge me. If I were rich and famous, I'd have lots of money being thrown at me to put this all together, however, being "just another singer" I have to fund this kind of project on my own and wait for the sales to cover the costs. (Same way I did my first two CD's.)

Again, I hope I'm reading this wrong and that you're really trying to be helpful and not overly critical. (I'm a soprano, so I'm highly insecure!)

I would not have guessed that you are short. The pictures make you look taller. I think having picture 2 as the cover and 1 as the insert is a wonderful idea.

You look like a (younger) Elizabeth Mitchell in the second shot. I just think it is more flattering. Not that the first one is UNflattering, just that the second one is so smooth and glamorous and pretty. It looks professional-- like an album cover-- while the first looks like a really good snapshot. If that makes sense.

:)

I chose #2 because it is much softer. It looks more professional IMO. Very pretty!!

agreed! Very pretty!!!!! :thumbsup2 I really like the white flowers and the contrast. It looks professional and u look very confident in that one. the first one is pretty too but I LOVE the white flowers and the looking away from the camera. congrats!!!

You have a beautiful voice. Congratulations on your first two CD's and best of luck with the new one.:goodvibes

I know you are probably not going to retake the photos but I think the blue dress suits you better for this type of album but with the flowers in the 2nd photo. The first background is a little too rustic (weedy, even though the flowers are pretty). The second background is lovely & classier. So, I prefer the 2nd photo and, as another suggested, crop just above the cleavage.

You look very pretty in both, maybe a slight bit younger in the 2nd (but young in both!!).

I must say #2 picture fits your beautiful singing!!

Thanks!

And unfortunately retaking is not an option. We had to time those SO carefully in the spring when everything was blooming. There was a very small window and we grabbed it. We won't have that again until next spring, and the album comes out this year.

Yea, duh, what was I thinking.:rolleyes1 It's feeling & looking like fall more & more each day. I love the photo that you first see when opening your website.

#2 - to me it doesn't seem as busy and it is a much nicer picture of you.

#1 seems like you are being coy with the camera, while #2 is a nice, classical look. I would pick this CD up to look at before I would select one with the other picture.

the 2nd on for sure I think its gorgeous and portrays a very classy look for you.
I agree the first one is almost a smirk, which is cute, but I dont thinkyoure going for cute here. I may be wrong but thats MTCW :)
