When I return to WDW in May, I'll be making my fifth attempt to complete the Drink Around the World challenge (I'm 3 for 4 so far, though the best experience was probably the one failed attempt). Despite the myriad options at each stop along the World Showcase, I've fallen into a bit of a rut with my drink selections, and wanted to crowd-source some alternatives to shake things up before I do this again.
The one thing that probably limits me is that I'm not a beer drinker at all. But I'm willing to give anything that's not beer a shot (no pun intended), and I'd love to hear what people on the board think I should try.
For reference, here are my typical choices (I alternate between starting in Mexico and Canada on each trip; this next trip will start in Mexico).
Mexico
I'll usually do either a frozen margarita or the tequila flight from the outdoor cart.
Norway
Every time I've done it, I've gotten the Aquavit shot. It feels like the most authentic option, but (let's be honest, here) it's also pretty terrible. At least it's a small portion and it goes down quick.
China
Tipsy Ducks in Love. This is probably non-negotiable, though I can be talked into trying something new as a second drink at this stop.
Refreshment Outpost
I usually settle for the Pinot Noir. Not a ton of non-beer options here.
Germany
The first time I had it, I fell in love with the Barenjager Honey & Bourbon. But it's something I keep in my home liquor cabinet now, so I'm looking to venture out into what other non-beer options Germany has to offer.
Italy
This is always my wild card country. I usually just go into Tutto Gusto and pick something at random, so I'd love to hear what I should be targeting.
U.S.A.
I could swear the last time I was there, the Frozen Red Stag Lemonade was the only non-beer option, but I'd love to be told otherwise.
Japan
Here's another country where I'm in desperate need of help. I always get a hot sake for authenticity's sake, and I never enjoy it. At least it takes a while to drink, which helps me pace myself, but I'd be more than happy to switch to anything else (except for sake bombs, which played very strongly into the one failed DATW attempt I had).
Morocco
I've gotten the "Mediterranean Journey" at the Spice Road Table bar the past three times I've gone, and I really like it, but I'm sure there's something else I should be trying.
France
I go back and forth between the Grand Marnier and Grey Goose Slush or a glass of the Veuve Clicquot Champagne. Then sometimes I'll get both, because, after all, this is France!
U.K.
I get a Lagavulin inside Rose & Crown every time, because it's literally my favorite drink on the planet, but it's also something I have every week at home. There's gotta be something I can try here that I can only get here, right?
Canada
There's gotta be something other than Crown Royal, right? I don't mind starting with it, but ending with it is pretty rough.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in my attempt to create another day at Epcot that I both won't remember and won't forget.
