Help me change my dining plans!

On March 4 we had planned on our day looking like this:

8 am-Tuskers
Spend day at AK until 2 pm, then go to AKL for swim
5pm- Rainforest cafe
7pm- Fantasmic

However, I just discovered that Rainforest Cafe is NOT on the DxDP! I don;t want to pay oop.

I looked and I can get reservations at Sci Fi for 3 45, or 50s PT for the same time, or H&V at 5. I am hesitant on H&V as I have read less than stellar reviews on here.

If we take the 3 45 reservations, we won't be able to swim that day ( don't think enough time).

Would you take the 3 45 reservations, have an early lunch, eat dinner and then use snack credits for before Fantasmic and skip the afternoon swim? We have one four yr old daughter.

Any other suggestions are welcome ( which is better, Sci Fi or 50s? Where is the best place to use snack credits at HS??

If you have your hearts set on seeing F! and it is the only night showing, I would skip the swim (I am slightly bias since I don't really like to swim... I can, like a fish actually, I just choose not to). I would take the late lunch / early dinner ADR for 50's. They have better food and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. Sci-Fi's food is nothing great and I always felt the menu to be lacking. It is unique and worth trying once, but if its between that and 50's, I'd have to say 50's... hands down

right now is Sci Fi Dine In over 50s PT Cafe. A couple of years ago it may have been the other way around. I can't speak about H&V.

do the 50s PT, skip sci fi. you'll be glad you did. I did sci fi, and after i sat down i was wishing i went to the PT Cafe. sci fi is only worth it for the atmosphere, aside from that its garbage IMO.

I just chexcked availabilit for you at Yak & Yeti...
I'm not sure how many are in your group, but they do have an opening at 4:30 for a party of 4...and it's on the ddp and is a favorite among disers....
That way you can pretty much keep to your original plan.

I did Yak & Yeti for the first time this year, and it was extremely good!

But I just love Prime Time for the experience; we had a similar dilemma. We had ressies for 4:30 pm, which was a bit early for me, but I didn't care - it was all about the experience and not the time....

How about Boma? Sounds like you're staying at AKL since you're planning on a swim that day. After Boma head over to DS.

you can make reservations at mama melrose at hw studios and then get express entrance to F!. but you have to go to the earlier F! show.

Try to get an early dinner ADR at Cape May Cafe. It's just a pleasant boat ride to/from the Studios.

That is a LOT of Travel.... Travel to AK for Tuskers.... AK.... Travel to AKL for Swim... Travel To AK for Rainforest... Travel to DHS for Fantasmic...

PLAN 1-2 HOURS for EACH TRAVEL TIME! And you will see that it is not a good thing to Hop around...

Either....Cancel Rainforest Cafe....and plan a Fantasmic Dinner Package... OR Do Rainforest and Plan Fantasmic for another night...when it will be more convenient.....

I agree with PP who said do the swimming and eat at Boma. That way its a buffet, so no waiting for food, and its where you are staying. It really is a good restaurant. Then you just have to catch a bus to DHS after dinner and you would really eliminate a lot of travel time.
