I need to replace the projection lamp on my Sony TV.

It is the Sony Xl 2500

From Sony it is $199 free ship

I see it elsewhere for $79-$99

I want the wega original replacement part not a knock off, but am unsure of any of the sites that pop up.

Anyone have any experience?

Thanks!

We used Apexlamps.com when the message showed up on the tv. We ordered it and paid via paypal and recieved it the next week. Also a Sony projection lamp. We haven't yet installed it as the picture is fine on the tv once the message disappears after the first 20seconds its turned on. So I can't tell you about the quality of the lamp but the service was fine and we have had no irregular activity thru paypal in the 3 months since we ordered it.

ours was a 1 x SONY XL-2400U and we paid $90- Sony wanted $289

Make sure you need a lamp before you buy one. I thought mine was bad (picture was turning blue) and it ended up being a optical block problem.

Long story short Sony ended up selling me a 60 inch LED 3-D TV for $725. Mine was 6 years old and off warranty. Sony is a good company.

Where did you get it?

How did you know it was an optical block problem?

Anyone have any experience buying one and using it?

Thanks!

The optical block problem is easy to see, the picture will start to turn blue (in my case) or green on some TV's. If that's the case contact Sony Listens on Facebook.

I changed the lamp a few years back and it fixed it that time. It took about 2 minutes to replace. I paid for the Sony lamp ($230) so I'm not sure about the off brand lamps.
