If I smuggle gifts baskets along for DD5 and DS9 when we go on our trip in June (we're driving), would it be possible to take them to the front desk at POP and have them delivered to our room? I really want to make the baskets myself (plus need to save $$), but I'd love for them to get a "delivery.":confused3

You might be able to get bell services to do it for you, but it also might be more trouble than it's worth. You'd have to get the baskets into the car, keep them hidden, and somehow get them to the CMs without your kids seeing.

Plus, the kids will be so excited about just BEING there :cheer2: :cheer2: that the addditon of a gift basket won't be missed at all.

And one more thing: As far as things like autograph books and ears go, my kids really enjoyed getting to pick them out and buy them themselves. (There are lots of different kinds of ears, for instance, and they enjoyed picking them out and watching the CM embroider their names on them.)

If you can't get a CM to deliver the baskets, you could put them out in the room while the kids are out (swimming, whatever) and say Tink or Mickey left them while they were gone. Your 9-yr-old may not "believe" it but my DD6 completely believes that Tink comes and leaves her a small gift every night we're at WDW.

I would just get DH to take the kids to the pool or Arcade . Then you could sneek them into the room and join them where they are. When you all return to the room they will be there for them to see.

You could also ship them to your resort ahead of time. We did that with some Christmas presents and a small tree 16 months ago. It was supposed to be a surprise--until bell services promptly and efficiently delivered the package the moment we got into the room. The kids immediately began begging to open it, so we mumbled something about extra clothes and managed to distract them, but it was close. Of course, if you were hoping the kids would be in the room to receive the package, they'd deliver it while you were out, but it would still be a fun surprise.

I manage to do the delivering myself all the time....much easier than depending on someone else to cooperate with my time schedule.

I was checking in one time when in my large purse I had an envelope for each child with a typed letter from Santa that included just enough Disney Dollars for the dads to take the kids to the gift shop and get autograph books and pens. So while they were momentarily distracted I got the notes out, called the kids over and told them that a CM came up to me and asked if I was so and so and these were for my kids from Santa.

I think it was that same trip that something managed to be in the room every night when we came back -- either by me forgetting something in the morning and running back to the room, by me being the last one out the door, or me getting back into the room while the dads took them to the arcade.

Lots of fun!

Traveliz...I pulled the same "forgetfulness" ploy and it works great!! The kids felt so special that Mickey came to leave them little presents!! Last trip I smuggled baskets in the checked luggage and locked it w/a zip tie. These are so much fun to do and add such a fun element to the trip!

DizneeMommy, you could ship to yourself and inquire for packages at check in. Maybe you could call your resort and ask about them doing a "delivery" for you -- I bet they get asked all the time since there are so many basket threads here. One year I did a swim theme w/ the swim gear bags, goggles, sunglasses, towels and bathing suits from the Disney store.

Also, if you have time it is fun to make your own autograph books. Happy planning!

We did this last year. I used bags instead of baskets so they would pack easily. I put everything in a carryon type thingy. When we checked in that's all I brought in with me. After check in DH took the bag upstairs and set it up while we went to get the luggage and the cart. When DH came back down to help up we all brought everything up and he saw the basket. We put it on the floor next to his bed so DH "couldn't" have seen it. Worked like a charm.
