Help Major pop-up problems and how I finally got ebay to work again

I posted awhile ago that ebay ran super slow. I found out that by disabling auto-protect from Norton ebay works fine. But this makes me nervous. But with it on ebay does not run. Anybody else have this problem.
I am also being baraged by popups even though I"m using google toolbar. Some of what I'm getting is pop-ups asking me to let them get around my pop up blocker. I keep getting one like this from Gain publishing and can't get rid of it. And after I close internet explorer or first click onto it I get a bazillion popups. It's like they couldn't get thru with the google tool bar so they send messages to keep waiting til I shut the toolbar. So I won't be online but my bottom bar will be filled with popups. Any tips on how to deal with this mess.

I ran Spybot and my computer is pop up free. I never would have believed it!

I also cleaned my cookies.

I'm interested too. I've been getting barraged by pop-ups, some like you said, that just won't go away. I've run Ad Aware and Spy Hunter and it doesn't seem to be helping.

I've run spybot, adaware, and a couple other things. Still having problems. It's getting really bad. Sometimes I have to shut the pc down to get rid of the mess.

I guess you have got a serious deal. I know that the Spybot site had a thing you can run for serious problems but it did come with a warning.
Did you run that too?

Right now there is a box at the bottom of my screen from university of phoenix and bella something. They don't come out as popups, i guess because of the blocker. They just go to the bottom bar as a little box. I have to click it to make it go away. As I click it it opens. I've only run search and destroy. I think I need a different popup blocker.

spybot and adaware are both good, but you might want to download cwshredder, it's a trojan killer
