We are considering booking our 1st cruise ever. We are looking at a 4 day in early May. For a CAT 9 the rate for 4 is $2300. Is this a good deal? What exactly can we do on a cruise? Will we get bored? Does a child have to be 4 to go into the kids club? I am apphrehensive has I am not sure if a cruise vacation is for us. We areready to try something different though. Any advice you have would be great!
Thanks

$2300 seems to be a good rate for 4 people in a Cat 9, for early May. I just took a quick look on our Travel Agent's web site: http://cruises.allseastravel.com/c/5/5738/1737386_5738.htm

There is a LOT to do on a cruise! :) In fact, we were just on a Disney cruise that got extended to 10 nights because of a hurricane, and there was still a lot of activities that we just never had a chance to do, so you will definitely be busy, and not bored, on a 4 night cruise :)

What are the ages of everyone in your group?? There is something for everyone.

My sons are teens, but from what I've read, kids can go to the club at the age of 3, if they are toilet trained. Here is a link to some of the activities offered for kids in the 3 -7 age range, from Disney's web site: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/d...ingindex?id=KidsActivitiesAges3thru7ActGrping

For a family vacation, I don't think DCL can be beat! I hope this info is helpful :sunny:

The kids clubs are fun for the 4 year old group. The characters even visit a few times during the week. My DD4 asks just about everyday when we are going back on the cruise. We also were not sure the kids would like it but all of us had a wonderful time. 4 days will definitly not be enough time!

Go to micdan.com, then call the number. Ask for or leave a message for Dana. She is awesome. She beat DCL price by leaps and bounds. You probably will get the machine, but she will call you back. Hope this helps. Only seen one person post she didn't save them any money.

Well, I don't have kids so I can't tell you what that experience is like. But I can say that for a girl that lives in the midwest, the chance to look out at the big beautiful ocean is reason enough to cruise. And you'll have a nice view of it from the window in your room, or you could spend some time on one of the decks looking out at it.

Want room service brought to your room at almost any hour of the day? It's yours on a cruise.

Want a safe environment for your child to play so that you can: sleep, watch a movie, enjoy some adult time.

The shows on the ship are Broadway quality and enjoyed by all ages.

At night there is dancing, comedy, just listening to music, watching the sun set.

Did I mention FOOD???? Lots of it, and it's really really good.

The chance to play in the sand on Castaway Cay, the whitest sand beach and the bluest ocean water . . . I swear they "Disneyfy" the place in the best sense of the word.

There are people who take the cruise to do and see as much as they can, and they are never bored.

There are others who take the cruise to get away from it all and do as little as possible, and they too are satisfied.

I think you will enjoy a 4 day cruise, just enough to get your feet wet, be comfortable with what it's all about, and book your next one as soon as possible!

Well, if you aren't sure a cruise is for you then i think the 4 day is a good choice. You still stop at the different ports but get one day at sea (which you don't really get if you do the 3 day) and there is only 1 day on board all day, so you don't have a chance to get bored. Though i have to say that dh and i have found that there is plenty to do and we don't get bored at all ... lots of activities planned (for adults or families), or relaxing on deck, lots and lots of food, great shows in the evenings.

We have cruised twice with our children (first when they were 3 and 4 and secondly when they were 4 and 6). The kids clubs start at age 3 (they must be potty-trained) and there are so many activities for the kids to do! Character visits, crafts, science experiments, movies at night, tea party with Wendy, pj party with Goofy ... we love cruising!
