I'm going to go ahead and blame Covid because things were so much easier before Covid! 😄

I keep getting an error message when trying to link the tickets of the family we are traveling with to our plan in MDE. I've done it in the past with no problems at all. It's now telling me that "this reservation is already linked or cannot be claimed online by the confirmation number." I know they're not linked to any other MDE besides their own and they have nothing but their confirmation number because this is their first time visiting WDW so they have no physical tickets or Magic Bands. Of course the message also says to call Disney but when you call all circuits are busy. 😩

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help!

If you add the family to your Friends and Family list then you will be able to make plans together, including park reservations and dining reservations. You don't really link their tickets when making plans together, you link the MDE accounts.

If you haven't done this yet then:
Go to your MDE profile
click on My Family and Friends
Add a guest

Tickets could never be linked to two accounts, so I'm not sure what you did before.

If they have their own accounts (which it sounds as if they do), then you will have to connect with them as Friends and Family. You do not connect their tickets to your account in any way. They are linked to their profiles.

If this doesn’t work bc sometimes it doesn’t. Call MDE help and they will connect you with someone with IT that will help you. The MDE system has more bugs than is healthy for a multi billion dollar company.

I would call Disney if you can't get your MDE account to do what you want. When we last traveled with other families, some of us got things to work on MDE while others couldn't. Calling was a way to get it fixed. Instead of wasting a lot of our own time doing the 'try this/try that' method, the phone person was able to resolve our issue. I don't know if they were IT people or not, but really don't care as long as they were able to resolve our problems. Many of the Disney apps are glitchy and how something was setup seems to make a difference in what works/doesn't.

Yep! Duh. It's been a couple years since I've done it and I forgot you need to add them as guests! Thank you!!!!

I'm off to try this now. Thank you to everyone who responded. Fingers crossed this works so I don't have to make a call. I know the wait times are insane...probably because the apps are glitchy. lol (Just kidding. I know it's for a gazillion reasons.)
