We are heading to WDW tomorrow with our three year old and our four month old. We love our travel system but would rather have a light weight stroller for the trams and buses. What do you guys recommend? We need one that reclines for the baby. Any suggestions would be great!!

Thanks!
Trisha

Hi, Trisha! Welcome to the DIS!

I know what you mean about the bulk of the travel systems. I have a Peg Perego and that this is monstrous. I hate it.

We got the Combi City SoHo stroller for WDW. It's lightweight (either 9 or 12 lbs. -- I can't remember) and I can actually fold it and carry it as opposed to my husband. It's so light I can literally throw it over my shoulder. The only negative we have is that the handle seems a bit short to others in my family who are taller than me. But I like it. We got it at Babies R Us for about $99 last year and we're taking it again this year. I think Target also carries a cheaper version, but the quality should be there for you.

Check your local Toys or Babies R Us if you have one. We bought a great stroller there for $40 for our last trip and it was perfect. It is b/w a travel system and an umbrella, it reclines back and has a basket under it but it folds really flat, easily fit on the busses. I would strongly recommend this type of stroller and the price was unbeatable!! Good luck!

I don't have one (we rented a stroller for DD2) but I was doing some serious stroller shopping while at WDW last week and kept seeing McClaren umbrella strollers, even doubles like I'm looking for. Everyone I asked about them LOVED them. I can't wait to get one for myself!

Are you taking a stroller for both kids or just the baby? I also recommend a Combi. They are packed full of features and are super lightweight/compact. Compared to the price of the Maclarens, they are a good deal too. My only complaint with our Combi is that my DD seems to be outgrowing it. She's about 32 pounds and it's getting a little tough to push. The other stroller that you might want to look at is the Chicco C3. I personally have never used it, but it's another stroller that seems to be a good bang for your buck. I think it has a pretty low weight limit though (37 pounds, I think).

Welcome to the DIS. :wave2:
DH & I did the same thing with going out to search for a lighter, and easy fold stroller for our 2yr old. DH calls our travel system the 'mobile command system' and its a pain to fold and have to lug on the buses. We did about a three day search and found nothing with a decent price tag that would accomodate all out needs. We wanted something the DS could lay back a nap, a tray for his snacks and drinks, cup holders for us and a big storage bin. We weren't willing to pay $$$ for a vacation stroller either.
We searched and finally decided that there was nothing better than our mobile command center. To my amazement, we were at WDW this past week and everyone had a travel system. One day there were four travel systems on the WDW bus to the parks!
Sure its heavy and doesn't fold very small, but we are grateful we brought our travel system after all.

I just got a Peg Perego Pliko P3! It is awesome. It folds like an umbrella stoller ,lays all the way down, has a huge sunshade and a step for your three year old to ride on! I also got the clear raincover that zips on and it is great! I am so pleased with it. It has a bucket bottom to hold stuff and they also have a travel bag that you can buy that goes over the shoulder. It is lighter than my other three strollers and has all the options of the big stollers while still folding into an umbrella shape. It also has a tray and cup holder!

Good luck!
