Leaving on 7/8 for US and IOA....my family and I have been to WDW about 7times....son 14, daughter 10. I am kinda upset after reading some of these posts about staying in a US hotel. We are on a tight budget, so we r staying at the Sleep In, 1/4mile from US. It looks nice in the picture, I hope.

Anyway, if everyone or anyone can send me one or two pointers, shoulds and shouldn'ts, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mom from Jersey::

Get there early. This way you can grab an express pass for a major attraction, then do other attractions until the express time comes. Be advised that Mummy, Hulk, and Spider-Man express run out the fastest.

Enjoy the theming. The parks are vey well/heavily themed, with great attention to detail. Take the time to look at the intracies that the average guest might miss...

Utilize single riders where available. This cuts down on wait time greatly.

Drink plenty of water. FL in July = sweltering.

Stay for the fireworks. They're pretty.

Remember where you parked.
Early, early early! Be at the parking gate house before 8.
When the crowds get unbearable return to your motel for some rest or a swim.
Return for favorite rides and fireworks.
US- Shrek 1st
Mummy 2nd
IOA- Hulk 1st
Spidey 2nd unless you are doing Doom
Pteranadon Flyers
Eat at Mythos.
Your kids are going to like MIB. Consider the single riders line.
Enjoy!

Thank for the update and input. I will try that restaurant for sure. Anything else I need to know would be helpful.:
Thanks

My only helpful bit of advice I can offer is:wave:
wear sneakers! No flip flops or sandles, because if you do your poor tootsies and heels will never forgive you!

LOL....I kinda figured that! Thanks.
I went out and bought those fans that squirt water for those long lines that everyone is telling me about. It helped at WDW, but I am not paying $15-$20 for them there.

What I enjoy are the random employees trying to sell those water bottle fans...they squirt you as you walk by, hoping you'd be tempted to by one, when sometimes it was just enough to cool you off for the time being...just walk by a few different people selling them, and bam! Feel cooling system :teeth:

I like those little pocket fans that are about the size of a lighter. there is no way that I'm going to be spraying my face with water and having my makeup messed up. no way! just be carefull though b/c they hurt a little if they touch you :p DH is a firm believer in the "sweat rags" as he calls them. he'll take a washcloth and moisten it and keep his face wiped off. but then again, off with the makeup for us ladies. on really hot days I have been known to go into the ladies room and get paper towels, moisten them, and make what looks like a snake and wrap around my neck. you do what you gotta do. :D

Glad to see others saying to arrive early.
You know, you'd be surprised. At 08:30am, there is a long line at the gates. You want to be at the front of it. Arrive to the parking garage at 08:00am. The early bird gets the worm is true when it comes to theme parks.

Oh, and usually, there will be two lines of people standing, yet 4 will open. Just stand in front of the next line, and it will open, the people will show up and open the line. If you don't believe it, just watch, and when the green arrow appears, move to it when they wave you in. I've moved up to the front many times this way.
