help lease, room only vs package

Is there a discount on anything for booking a package or is it just convienence? We have done room only in the past when there is a code and got our tickets from an outside agency at a discount...if no code for October comes up would I be just as well off bokking a package with disney??

I know that if we want the dining we have to get a whole package

You really have to do the research and run the numbers yourself. You can get estimates on the room only rates and the packages at Disney's website (when it's not acting up, that is!). Then you'd need to get the prices for your tickets from your usual ticket source (that's one variable we can't predict for you). Since you're used to going without the dining plan, calculate how much you spend on food, and how you spend it. If you prefer CS dining (it's fast and the portions are smaller) then the dining plan may not be for you. If you hate CS (and only TS will do for you) then the dining plan may not be for you. If you eat at a fairly consistent blend of CS and TS restaurants, then the dining plan might be a better fit. If you have AAA, you can book the package through AAA, so that you get the AAA discount on the room portion of the package only.

If the numbers are close, I would consider booking the room/ticket package and waiting to add the dining until you see if it's offered free. It may be that you would spend less on food by paying OOP than by paying for the plan, but if you don't have to pay for the plan, then it's the better bargain. But you'll have to do the math yourself, based on your habits, before you know if the packages work out better for you.
