Help....laundry emergency

I don't see a problem with using it at all. To me it's no differnt than the dirt and bits of grass on the clothes themselves. The soap will still do the job.

Yes, I would use it, BUT, I would also suggest making your own detergent for future use. It is the cheapest detergent you can get (unless you extreme coupon and get it all for free!) We have been using it for 2 years now and have spent about .01 to .02 per load for detergent.

Dawn

The detergent should be fine to use as there are particles of dirt and debris found on soiled laundry. I would get rid of the cats though. :scared1:

ut oh, I hope your kids never spill anything by accident :scared1:;)

Oh, the holidays are getting close, aren't they?

My beloved cats for some reason decided to jump onto the dryer and knock my box of laundry soap all over the floor. The floor was not exactly clean....bits of grass(football player), dirt from socks, etc.

I have swept all the detergent up (bits of grass & all) and put it back into the box.

QUESTION: Do you think it will be okay to use?

I can't see why it wouldn't be okay. I will not use it on any delicates or special items in the laundry, but for towels and the boys regular clothes I am hoping its ok.

What do y'all think????

It works when that same dirt is on the clothes, it will work with a bit of dirt in it. It all comes out in the wash. :rotfl2:

I'd use it but what I'd do first is run it through the colander or drag a slotted spoon through it to get out as much of the grass as I could.

Things are extremely tight around here this month. I had to purchase a much less expensive laundry soap....with hopes that it will work well on our messes.

Its powder in a smaller size box with a fold close lid......typical average box.

I cannot afford to buy new detergent until the end of the month.

Are we priming for the Holidays? Couldn't you just say the detergent was knocked over? I have to say if money is so tight that you can't afford laundry detergent, I'd rethink the cats. They're an added expense to an already strapped for cash household.

Or the internet. :confused3

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you have a pick-n-save near you, they just had arm & hammer laundry detergent on sale for 3.99 (taking into consideration that most stores will run the same ad) and there are some coupons out there for 1.00 off, and when it's doubled, that's some cheap detergent!! If you're that worried about your detergent, this may work for you. And ya never know, you may learn to love couponing and getting things for free like the people on TLC!

ETA: I didn't even realize the date of the OP. My detergent solution (ha!) won't help you now as I'm sure you've already bought new stuff.

Is this a joke?
OP, when you say can't afford to buy new laundry detergent, maybe you just mean that you promised yourself you would stick to a budget and want to keep your word?
If you can't afford to buy laundry detergent in the sense that you actually don't have 4 dollars you have much bigger problems than grass in your powder...
