Help, keep changing my mind...

I keep flip-flopping on a Tusker House breakfast time. I have an 8:45am. Now I'm thinking of changing it to 9:45/9:50am.

My kids are usually early risers (6:30am most mornings), but we have Fantasmic planned the night before and they are early bedtime kids (7:30ish). I don't know how tired they will be...but I know TH has a reputation for longer waits and I DON'T want to get caught in the change to lunch.

Do I keep the 8:45am and hope they are rested and ready, or switch to a later time and hope the wait is short? Also, if I do 9:45/9:50am, do I have time for the Safari if we are up early?

What about somewhere in the middle? ADR for 9:15 to give a bit extra sleep in time. You can still try to target for arrival closer to 8:45 and just check in a bit early if you do get your family up and moving in time. I would much rather check in 20 - 30 minutes early then be rushing and end up checking in late.

I agree with trying for a time in the middle. 9:15is or so...

I would not risk the safari before, posted wait is often not correct and more than once when we have been on it, the animals have caused delays... I love a good "giraffic jam," but some people in our jeep had an ADR, and were not to happy.

I really hate the idea of 9:15am. It seems the worst waste of morning park time.

I either want to do pre-park or wait until 10am (and try to get a ride/activity in). I just can't decide which would be better. :yo-yo:

To play it safe, I would choose 10 am. If you get there at park opening, you could very likely get right on Safari (it's about a 20 minute ride) and still make it to Tusker House in time. If you get there a little later, you could do some animal trails or even check in early. We've checked in to TH early twice and have been seated almost right away.

8:45 is NOT pre-park opening. Technically, it is before the posted opening time, but they consistently let people in earlier. By the time you get in and get seated, the park will already be open and you will be eating during the first hour. Sounds like you need to go with the later time.

I would lean toward the 10:00am idea. You would still be able to get to AK for rope drop and then I would head straight to Safari. Then you are right in the area of Tusker and maybe catch Festival of Lion King after your meal.

I would choose a later breakfast time...perhaps 10:30, because:
1. That first hour in a park is magic, you can get so many things done (if you kids aren't too tired for park opening)
2. You would be present for the buffet change from breakfast items to lunch
3. If the kids need to sleep in, you have a built-in buffer of time before you "have" to be somewhere

I'd make it 10am to be on the safe side. It's better than rushing tired, cranky kids out the door & risk being late or just having to deal with tired, cranky kids in the park when they could've gotten some more rest. Even if you're at the park for RD, you can relax & go on the safari before your meal.

The difference between 8:45 and 9:15 as far as missing out on prime park time is negligible, so if that's your primary concern, then I would definitely suggest the later 10am option. That of course assumes you think you will be up and out in time to get to RD.
