Ok, I've got over 20 trips under my belt, and I'm going down July 4th week with friends (husband and wife and their 2 kids, aged 6 and 8) whose last trip was 2 years ago. I acted as tour guide for that trip as well, and now they *insist* that I go with them everytime (I'm not complaining!)... I've never been to WDW during the week of the 4th.

So here's the dilemma: they want to be in the parks on July 4th. This is spine chilling for me as I don't *do* crowded if I can help it. We are staying off property at Marriot Horizons so if the park is at capacity we ain't getting in...

Any advice for which park we should choose for that day, and strategies for the best plan of attack? I think they want to be at Epcot or Magic Kingdom more than the other 2. Their youngest is finally tall enough to ride it all, so I want to make sure we get to everything she wants to do. Thanks!!

I think MK reached capacity on the 4th of July the last several years.

I would avoid MK.

Epcot may be OK, as it is bigger.

thanks! I figured MK would be a mob of strollers and sweaty people so I am going to try to convince them Epcot is the place to go...

Epcot is great because it absorbs crowds so well. We have also been to MGM on 7/4 and it was empty for the first few hours of the day. Avoid MK - but see the MK fireworks after a meal at GF or Poly from their beaches. Epcots 7/4 fireworks are good too. Plan on staying put once you choose your park and HAVE FUN!

We will be joining you on the 4th of July. We are not going to MK on the 4th because of the crowds. Wew will spend part of the day (morning) in MGM and evening in Epcot (fireworks). Obviously, because of its size you will not "feel" the crowds in Epcot. Enjoy your vacation, we are getting close!!

This is our third time going around the 4th of July holiday! We really haven't found it to be THAT crowded. We were able to ride all the rides (many of them several times each day!) by using fast passes. We usually go to MK in the morning, and after an afternoon nap/swim break, we'll head over to Epcot.

We'll be spending our morning & evening at Epcot this year! Can't wait!!!! The fireworks show after Illuminations is wonderful!!!

See ya there!

We were at WDW in 2002. We went to Epcot and had a great time. The crowds were not bad they had a extra fireworks with a salute to America. Go with EPCOT. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :sunny:

...the answer is Epcot , i have done it for the last four years and its perfect, is crowded but because of its size its more easy on you we have been able to ride everything and yhe fireworks are great . We have done MK and its mega crowded so avoided...
hope his help!!
We are going to be there so ...

Wishing to see a lot of lime green on July ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::
