We're brand new members and this is our 1st time using our DVC points. I am booked at my home resort, SSR from Dec 1 thru the 9th, in a one bdrm for the 1st five nights and a 2 bdrm the last 3 nights. I am on the wait list for WL, BCV or BW, does anyone know what my chances are? Does the waitlist really work or should I call everyday to see if there it has become available??? Normally we probably wouldn't have this much trouble swaping because we like to visit just after New Years when it is less busy.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I've been wait listed before and it took a several weeks but it finally came through for VWL. I kept my calls down to every other week. I actually had it written down! :lmao: I just didn't want to be "that person" ya know! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :goodvibes

We are also own at SSR and we did the same thing you did except we are going down 12/09 - 12/16. I called everyday to make reservations at the 7 month window and we were able get everyday that we wanted at BWV except for 2 so I waitlisted those 2 days and they actually opened up a week later. I didn't call MS they called me.

Did you waitlist your whole stay or did you waitlist each day that wasn't available? If you waitlisted the whole stay then it will probably take longer for your ressie to come through and I'm guessing that the BWV will be the first one to become available.

Good luck.

I was originally booked at my home resort, SSR, for Dec 9-13 in a studio. I called day by day at the 7 month window and was able to secore a 1BR at VWL; however, I wanted a studio. I waitlisted day by day, and they have already come through. Try it! This far out, you may have luck.

You can check the status of your reservation online at the DVC member website. It is updated just as reservations are made or changed. I made a ressie and had to waitlist 2 days in the middle of our stay. It took almost a week and I checked it everyday. Then I was surprised when it showed our whole stay avail and confirmed. 6 days later the paper confirmation arrived in the mail.

An alternative to calling MS is logging on to the member website.

But if you wait list day by day, and one or more days don't become open, then you would have to move during your stay, correct? I did ask MS about booking the days they currently have open (because I have enought points), but they told me if I did that, it would use my Aug 06 points to do so and then if the rest of the days come through then my SSR ressie would transfer to my new ressie minus the days I already had booked that were originally available, leaving me with not using all my banked points from last year. Which didn't seem right to me but MS said I would end up with left over banked points that would need to used by Aug 07. As is stands with my current ressie at SSR, I will have 100 8/06 UY points that I would be able to bank to 8/07. Do you know if this is correct?? I only ask because another time that I called MS, I got a different answer.

I've been waitlisting since the beginning of March for a 2 bedroom for BCV :confused3
At the 7 month mark I added BWV. I currently have a 2 bedroom for VWL for the 3-8th of Dec and a studio the 1st and 2nd.
Good luck on your waitlist! I hope they start switching everyone around soon. It does show up on the Disney DVC right away when it's switched :goodvibes

You would have to move unless you duplicate the reservations pending completion. In your case, I'd book the days available that are not weekends and wait list day by day for the rest. By the time you get to the point of having to borrow or cancel days to continue, you'll be mostly done with the weekdays. The weekends are more likely to be available, but if not, you could always book those days on cash and save points.

I am on the wait list for day-by-day reservations, figuring it would be easier to book day-by-day as opposed to trying to land a full week in one shot.

I am attempting to get a 2-bedroom villa at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, July 29th to Aug. 5th. Obviously, this is a busy time of year for Vero Beach with kids out of school. :teacher:

I initially tried to book on February 27th and got only 3-nights. I was put on a wait list that day for the remaining 4-nights. :guilty:

A few weeks later, in March, I got 1 more night. Just this past week, on May 19th, I picked up two additional nights!

So, right now I am waiting on my last remaining night to complete the reservation. It is hard to wait, but patience has paid off. Hopefully, I will get that last evening soon. :smooth:

Hope all on the waitless gets what they want. Good luck!

I have been waitlisted and some times days 1,2,3,7,8,9,10 have been opened. In that case I usuallly split my stay going with the larger block at my WaitListed resort, and then if I really want to stay at the one resort I waitlsit the 1-6th days together. I have had it not work-where the waitlist never opened up. But at least I had my origional ressie and my 4 days at my waitlisted resort. I really don't mind moving...so it was good for me. :thumbsup2

I hope you get it since we're waitlisted for a 2BR at VWL for those dates. ;)

We have never had a waitlist not come through but we had previously always been waiting on a studio or 1BR. This is our first time in a 2BR now that the family has grown and we aren't sure if we'll keep our streak alive.

Thank you all for the information. I've decided to split my waitlist dates, Dec 1-6 for the 1 bdrm and the 6-9 in a 2 bdrm even if I have to change resorts which wouldn't be that big of a deal because I'll have to move rooms regardless.
Thank you again for all your help.
