HELP! Is the Segway tour worth changing our schedule?

Hi all,

Right now I'm bringing my girlfriend back to the theme parks for a few days after a cruise. We've pretty much planned out our entire schedule for the 3 days, BUT then I was reading about the "Segway" tour of Epcot and thought it would be AWESOME surprise (just drag her there early in the morning and not tell her why).

From every account I've read, it's worth it and awesome - BUT it requires theme park admission. Because this trip is about doing "alternative" Disney activities (halloween party, water park, disneyquest, dtd), we're only spending on 'ticketed' day in the parks (a day in EPCOT).

Originally we planned our Friday to look like:

-- First Half of Day: Typhoon Lagoon
-- Second Half of Day: DisneyQuest
-- Downtown Disney

and our Saturday to be:

-- Epcot (Food and Wine Festival, New Soarin' Ride, Dinner @ Morocco)

**BUT** they have no Segway 2-hour tours on Saturday.

SO...I was thinking about reversing our Friday and Saturday schedule. The only concern is...everywhere I've read...Friday is the worse day for Epcot (and I'm guessing Typhoon Lagoon and DisneyQuest could easily be more crowded on Saturday?).

We're going 10/20-10/23. As much as I'd LOVE to surprise her with the Segway tour - would flipflopping our daily plans above be worth it? Or would we be dealing with more crowds, etc.?

I appreciate all your honest advice and help!

Chris :)

I gave DH the Segway tour for his birthday and he absolutely loved it! But he's been fascinated with Segways since they came out, so was really into the tour. He had a great time with his group and instructors.

That said, there's so much to do at WDW that if you can't comfortably fit it in, this will be something to look forward to next time.

We love the F&W festival, but avoid Epcot on the weekends because I've read multiple posts on this board over the years that weekends are busiest because the locals want to enjoy it too. But, you're just there a few days, so there's not a lot of choice. Perhaps you want to repost and ask which day might be busier at Epcot and which at DQ/DTD.

Sounds like a great trip!!

I've done the Segway tour twice! Thoroughly enjoyed it both times.

As kda says, you'll have to decide what you might want to do another time, you can't possibly do everything.

The Segway tour does take you into World Showcase before it opens, so you don't have to weave around so many people. I found nooks and crannies I didn't know existed in World Showcase.

Enjoy your time there no matter what you decide to do!
