Help! Insurance for OAPs

My mum is 75, as is her friend, and they want to go to Florida but they're having trouble getting insurance.

They have existing health problems, mum has angina (although it's years since she had an attack) and her friend is diabetic.

No-on they've tried will insure them long haul for exisitng medical conditions. They don't mind paying a premium but they're worried about going out there without full cover in case they did have problems.

Can anyone suggest a comapny who might help?

Gosure.com will insure but the premium is high!

I just tried it for you with the lady who is 75 with angina, for 16 days the cost would be £224, you can make this cheaper by excluding things like baggage claims, cancellations etc.

Try them both together as passenger 1 and 2
I tried it for two weeks and it came to around £227 for both conditions and age supplements, good luck!!!

I've really been shopping about for insurance and the cheapest I've found is www.sundeal.co.uk.

You might need to e-mail then the specifics but looks like they're happy to ensure with stable pre-existing conditions.

I insured my mum through these people www.floridahomesandtravel.com I can't remember how much it was we used their car hire to.

The Post Office was good for my in-laws (both mid-70s) when I was looking for cover for them, but they had no pre-existing medical conditions.

How about trying SAGA or Age Concern? They should quote for pre-existing medical conditions and over 60.

Many of the leading brokers had simply told her it couldn't be done.

Friends we are travelling out with this summer had great difficulty finding insurance for her elderly parents (81 & 79) who are coming out with us. They both have pre-existing conditions, but she got a good deal through Virgin.
