HELP! Inspiration needed - small Easter gifts

Hoping for some inspiration!

I help run a baby and toddler group and we always give the children a small gift at the end of the term.

Last year (before I took over) they had a little chocolate bunny each

This year I am very consious that the child of the other leader is not allowed chocolate/biscuits etc. Try as I might I can't think of any other idea that works but is not chocolate - The child's Mum suggested the little hollow plastic eggs (like used in Easter egg hunts) but that still doen't help me as I'd need something to go in them!!!!!

Any ideas? It's only a little token so approx 50p is my budget
DD thinks we should still give chocolate and give the non choc eater an apple!

I would still give the little chocolate eggs, and for the child who can't have choc the supermarkets are doing biscuits (gingerbread) in the shape of easter bunnies and Chicks. Maybe you could get one of them

Other than that maybe a little soft chic, Asda have them for £1.(just for the child who can't have choc).

Sorry just editing.... didn't see the Biscuits. Asda have bags off mini hollow choc eggs there 99p and theres about 8 in there. You could get a couple of bags of them and a little easter chick for the other child.

There are some artificial eggs or little toys ( a couple of squid though) that maybe you could do for that child??

Jo have you any local gift shops that would help out. Our PTA use the same one and we have struck up a good deal for throughout the year.
Might give you more for your money

I definately wouldn't give the child something different eg a toy, it will end in tears!

One year we gave our Brownies bouncy balls that were egg shaped they went down very well. Can't remember the cost but bought them from the Baker Ross catalogue.

Seriously though, is it for allergy/medical reasons that the child can't have chocolate or is it just that the mother doesn't allow it? Can the mother not provide something herself? As it's a baby/toddler group I'm assuming the mothers stay with the children so she could always swap the chocolate egg with something she provided on the way home, ie cuddly chick etc? I was thinking of those little fluffy chicks you put on cakes but they will be too small for babies/toddlers.

Thanks for the ideas guys - some great ones. Main problem is that I am up against time as I need stuff for next Tuesday so I'm going to go shopping at the weekend and I'll get what I can find (Asda sounds a good place to start). Thanks to you guys I have great ideas for next year already so thanks.

I guess I am just trying to be extra considerate as it is the child of one of the other leaders. There isn't any medical reason why she isn't allowed choc or biscuits or cakes or anything like that it is just the mothers preference. Bless her, the little girl never complains (not yet anyway )

The Leader with the nonchoc eating child has offered to go shopping for the Easter gifts so I have decided to say 'Thank you' and let her worry about it! I did tell her I'll do it next year as I have lots of ideas

What about a small book each - perhaps based around a bunny or chick? Lots of cheap shops do them and they make great gifts. The kids at my playgroup love getting books. Otherwise what about buying a small colouring pad and some crayons and making your own DIY pressies?

Anita - my friend did say that she liked the idea of books so lets hope whatever she finds has enough!

I think I'll store your crayons/colouring idea for the summer pressie (assuming we do one) I am going to start organising this at the start of next term!
