Our trip is coming up to the 90-day mark and I'm wondering if its too late to get into the whole magical gathering thing. If anyone has any experience with it, maybe you can give me some advice. Right now 5 families in my neighborhood are going to Disney at the same time. Some of us are DVC members, some not. We all wanted to do some things together...the Norway Princess Storybook bkfst for example. I was wondering if I have to register my group somehow as a magical gathering in order to get a reservation for that many people. We may not do many things together, just 1 or 2, so I'm not sure exactly how to proceed. And I know I can't wait too long or the 90-day window will be here. Any advice??

Oh what an experience it is booking a grand gathering!

It has to be a party of 8 or more for a gathering. I have just booked the fireworks voyage. We registered before our 90 days. My family is staying at PC and the other part of our group is staying at a DVC resort. For some reason, they have a problem seeing the information on DVC reservations. We linked it to my reservation at PC and got a GG#. When the 90 day mark was here, we called and could not book it because the park hours for that month were not out. After about a week of calling every other day, we finally got it. They asked me if we had made any other PS and if we had given them our GG#. We had made some PS but had not given them the number. She told me that she would pull up our PS and attach the number to them. She said they would send an itinerary listing our information that was linked to the GG#.

If you are only doing this for dining reservations, I don't know if I would bother.

MicheleC,

We are going in September as a GG. I would not bother with a GG# unless you are going to do the special GG events. As far as PSs, you will put a lot of effort in and lots of minutes on your phone just to link a PS w/ a GG#. I read somewhere that when you make a PS with a GG# you will not have to wait for your table. When your group arrives you will be seated (at your scheduled time). That is suppose to be a "benefit" but if you go in the slow season, I would not think it would be a benefit.

Now the GG Wishes cruise (I believe) would be worth the effort. If you do book any GG events have everyone call in a pay their part that day. We had a problem with no spots being left when my family called to make their payment a week later. Long story.

I have spent a lot of time on the phone!!:charac2:
