Help..I'm scared of my new SUV!

Hey, do you live in Virginia and were you just out on the road about an hour ago? :teeth:

I just got back from the grocery store and I was behind an Armada. It was a left hand turn lane and when the light turned green, the Armada drive could hardly make the turn and was going at a snail's pace! I had read this thread earlier this morning so I had a good chuckle when I was behind the Armada thinking "well, Brier Rose isn't the ONLY one with this problem!"

:rotfl:

NO that was was not me, but it could have been! I could just see me doing that..and I do drive slow!

BTW..DH just got home this morning..he's been in New Orleans on business..and we're gonna take it out this afternoon while he's with me.

He says he just wants to check the owner's manual first to make sure we have plenty of air bags! :teeth: Just kidding! I'm not that bad...I think.

BTW Kimberly, I would love to have a Mini Cooper S. We test drove one and I loved it! Have you taken in long road trips in it? Sorry to thread jack, just curious how the car would do on a long trip. We knew for our family of three travel may be an issue in it, but for my everyday local car....Vroom Vroom. Love those cars.

It actually is a great little car for someone single or a couple. There is absolutely no storage space whatsoever with the back seat up, but once you fold it forward, I've got as much as any conventional SUV.

Longest road trip I've taken it on was a 660 mile trip to Myrtle Beach last August. No issues at all with this car except for the fact that I could have only one other person in my car!

I hope you test drove the manual, the automatic is nowhere nearly as "peppy" as the manual transmission.

Call me a contrarian but I hated our SUV and was thrilled to get rid of it. I never, ever got used to the weird turning radius and the truck-like handlng. We now have a Sienna and a Passat, so we have a nice car for everyday driving and a minivan for when we have extra kids, the dogs, or lots of gear. I just don't get the big SUV's. They look like assault vehicles to me.
