This is a little embarassing, because it is obvious most people plan Disney vacations far in advance, but I have just finalized plans to stay at BWV Feb. 6 -10. Now I have to make dinng plans. It seems after reading various posts that getting ps for the more popular restaurants and charater meals will be impossible. Any advice for fun, memorable dining experiences that might still be available? I have a three year old daughter, and two sons, ages 4 and almost 7.

I wouldn't assume that you can't get the PSes you most want. Its a relatively quiet time of year, and they've just recently extended the hours for Cindy's breakfast, so try calling and see what you can come up with!

Good luck!

I would definitely not say getting PSs is impossible. :) Like the previous poster said, February is a slow time at Disney. While it might be kind of difficult to get Cindy's breakfast reservations, there's also lunch and dinner there. There's Chef Mickey's (at the Contemporary), too, or Crystal Palace at MK. Liberty Tree Tavern (MK) has a character dinner, Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club has a very good character breakfast buffet, and you'll have *NO* problem getting a PS there.

Our standard Disney time of year is right now, and we often make our dinner PSs day-of or day before. We usually end up eating late b/c of that, but for us that's not a problem. Having children you're probably on a more strict time table than us, but making your PSs a month out, you shouldn't have trouble getting in just about anywhere you would want. You might have to be a little flexible on your times, but I wouldn't think you'd have too much trouble. :)

PSs I would go ahead and try to make now (if they're on your list, of course) would be Cindy's, '50's Prime Time, 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, California Girll (for a more upscale type meal), and maybe Boma. Just about anywhere else in February I don't think you'd have a problem even walking up to as long as you didn't mind waiting a little bit. :)

I agree with the sentiment not to think you cannot get PSes. We just returned from a 9 day stay and we had PSes almost everyday but we did not have anything planned this past Thursday (12/30). We were staying at Pop and I went down to Guest Services to see what was available. We did not want buffet and had a party of 6. It was about 4:30pm and everywhere we tried didn't have seating until after 9:30 and we didn't want to wait that long. We returned to the room to discuss what we wanted to do. At about 5:30pm, we hadn't come up with a plan and I decided to try wdw-dine one last time. Sure enough, they had an opening at 'Ohana for 6:50pm. We had never eaten there but I remembered reading all kinds of good things here on these boards so we jumped on it! We got there right on time but they were running just a few minutes late. Everyone was right. They food and service was wonderful and we even had a great view of the 8:30 Wishes show with the music piped in. We will definately dine here again and we hadn't planned it in advance - we just lucked into it during one of the busiest times of the year! Best of luck in your dining decisions!

Write out where & when you would like to dine you would like to eat. Then call Disney. When you ask for a specific place, say Crystal Palace, and they say they are all booked up, ask them to check other days during your stay for availability. If booked your entire stay, they make a PS somewhere else, then check with Dining once a week to see if it has become available.

We are going the week before you and we just finished getting our ps reservations. We got everything we wanted and at the time we wanted it. We have a 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 year old kids. Here is what we picked.
dinners:
Whispering canyon cafe
1900 park fare
Ohana's
Lunches:
Cinderellas castle
Plaza
Breakfast:
Chef Mickeys
We got all of these with no problems. Call and get them booked!

Cape May Cafe breakfast, Ohana, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Chef Mickey's and Sci-Fi Drive In are all great for kids. Call and ask. You never know what may still be open.
