I just bought a bunch of large indoor plants and put them around my house. However the leaves are turning yellow on all of them and I heard that was a sign of over-watering. I only water them a little bit twice a week - any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

What kind of plants are they? Different plants need different watering.

I had a plant that I watered 2x a week, they turned yellow, watered it whenever I remembered (Which was like..1 a month..if it was lucky) It flourished.

You are likely overwatering if you're watering them twice a week. Most house plants only need to be watered weekly. They may also not be getting enough light but my money is on overwatering. :)

There is a plant called Pothos that is the easiest plant in the world to keep alive and thriving...it's a trailing plant and can adapt to very little light or bright light and can be neglected for a long time and still be fine. When I was a leasing agent at an apartment complex (about 10 years ago) a tenant gave me her Pothos plant since she was moving out of state and that stupid thing is still alive! I've never fertilized it and it's still in the same soil and pot as when she gave it to me. LOL I had it trailing off of our stairwell but had to cut it back all of the time because it would trail too far and dangle where your head was. It's so easy to care for you can cut off a piece of it and root it in water, then plant that in soil. Pothos and Spider Plants are the two easiest to care for.

As mentioned before, plants have wide water requirements. Some need the soil to be be dry between waterings, others require more frequent watering. The move to a new environment can also be making them adjust to different light and humidity conditions. Hopefully you find labels in the pots with the names of the plants so you can search for the specific requirements of each type. Good luck!

My money is on not enough light. As far as watering goes, just stick your finger into the soil. It should be firm to the touch, but moist. If you can easily stick your finger into the soils, it's probably too wet.

If you just bought the plants (1 week) my bet would be that it is adjusting to the new environment. Fig type of plants are known to drop their leave once they are moved to a new location.
What type of plants are they?

I think they are indoor palm plants. I bought them from a neighbor who had a moving sale before they went to Florida. They said they are easy plants and I wouldn't be able to kill them - they don't know me! The all get plenty of light and I give them such a tiny bit of water twice a week but I will try once and see how that goes.
Should I water my outside potted flowers daily if it doesn't rain? They are not looking so great either lol. I definitely do not have a green thumb.
