Disneyland newbie! We are flying into lax and staying at the homewood suites convention center. Whats the best one to take for a one way trip(a family member will be driving us back to lax)? I want the best price but I don't want a shady shuttle either! Tia!!

I've been going around on this a lot and it seems most of the shared shuttle services have their problems. I have decided to stick with Super Shuttle next week, though I know it's a gamble. I mean, I know they'll get me there, but they might loop the airport a bunch of times before departing. I've heard about long waits sometimes for other services too. Basically, reviews are all over the map. I'll report back with my experience next week.

If time if of the essence, then a cab or Uber will be fastest but much more expensive.

How many people? When we priced Uber vs Super Shuttle, it was the same price (3 of us). I would do Uber over SS anyday!

I've used Karmel Shuttle three times without any problems. Twice we had the van to ourselves. They were prompt and friendly. The vans were a bit worn, but other than that, I have had no complaints. With a AAA discount and tip, it was $56 for two of us. If you are looking for a family of four, you might want to check out some of the towncar type options.

We took GoLansky and it was great. They met us at the terminal with a sign and had bottled water for us in the car. We were allowed at half hour stop at Target as well to stock up.

I second this. These guys were great.

I used to, when it came every half an hour. Now that it's once an hour it's just a pain.

Is there a public transportation option? I was directed towards Super Shuttle as well. Mouse Savers claims it's 17 dollars but when I tried to book it was 41. Disneyland Express looks like it doesn't even run all day. It seems to be paying 10-20 extra dollars for the convenience of Uber is the best option. And if you have multiple people it would be the cheapest.

We used Super Shuttle the first couple of time we flew to Anaheim, though the deal was with Virgin. To be honest, we weren't that impressed with SS; whilst there were no actual problems with any of the residents who shared the van with us we were taken to some areas of LA (before we got to Anaheim) that looked quite shady and didn't feel that safe. Have heard good reports about Karmel so far even though my wife and I haven't used them personally as yet. We are hoping to check them out when we arrive in October.

The DL Express is a good service, though it is a shame it only runs once per hour at the terminal. The difference between getting your bags back from the luggage area can mean you only just miss a service by minutes. The price, however, is a good deal. It appears to be easier to get the DL Express back to LAX though, you just have to make sure you get your hotel to book them to call up.

From LAX? That would be long and miserable, IMO.

With SS use the hotel, NOT the zip code. If you use the zip code, it's higher. So choose the hotel from the dropdown menu and you should get the correct price.

Depending on how many people and bags you have, you might not be able to use the basic Uber service, and the bigger the vehicle you go, the more expensive that gets.

Oh, thank you. I was putting in Disneyland RESORT instead of Hotel. Is there a way I can know what time my shuttle will pick me up? How are they supposed to know when I am ready? If I'm trying to leave the airport at 5am is there going to be a shuttle ready, or will I be stuck waiting there for an hour and a half? If that's the case, I would just rather stick with Uber and know I'm not going to be late.

Do you mean taking it to the airport with SS? They will tell you what time they will pick you up while booking, from what I recall. If the time is earlier than you expect it's because they are going to pick up a bunch of people and then hit the road. They schedule it all out.

If you mean from the airport, when you land "check in" online. Get your bags and go outside to the sign for SS and the employees there. They will tell you when your shuttle is anticipated and there's a link to watch your specific van moving on the road.

DLR Express, just to discuss that, comes on a schedule and the time listed is for Termiinal 1. If you're at T5 it will be later than the listed time. When we've taken the coach we get bored standing there and tend to walk up to the first terminal so we are first on. Then you have to go through all the stops you walked by but at least you're on the bus and got some steps in.

I still like Karmel best lol.

I haven't brought myself to use uber, even through a good friend of mine drives for them
in the LA area.

Thank you! I was talking about from the airport. My concern is just that they won't have enough other people at 5/6am and I will have to wait an hour or more for them to fill the van. Is that a legitimate concern?

OK, first off, looks like you are stuck with LAX, but there 2 much closer Airports, Long Beach (LGB) and John Wayne/Orange County/Santa Ana (SNA), both just 14 miles away, LGB is my favorite, small and easy access (Just drive down Ball Road, the eastern end of the road ends at the Airport), though limited flights due to its size. John Wayne is a medium size airport but still has one main pickup hub area, like Long Beach.

But if you are stuck with LAX, besides the Disneyland Express Airport Bus, both SuperShuttle and Prime Time Shuttle have special manned pickup points near each terminal (and there are 8 terminals, some do share a stop). Any other Shuttle service has to wait off property until they get a phone call that you have collected your luggage and are ready to pick up. Both Uber and Lyft are allowed to pick up at LAX, though they do add a surcharge, that is passed on by the service to the passenger(s).

For example, a taxi from LGB or SNA is about $50 plus tip, LAX is around $100 plus tip, though traffic waits add to the meter.
