Help I'm in a trip planning funk

We have the chance to take a Disney trip this May. I however am in a funk about going ahead and planning it.

The airfare is on sale right now for $99 each way and what a steal that price is. We also have 127 left over DVC points from last year that we need to use at some point this year. When we did our taxes we decided to take $500 and put it toward a trip along with the money we got from X-mas. So we have the funds to take a trip.

My husband has been working on a big project at work that has to be done by April 1 so he has put in a lot of over time for the past 2 months and needs a break. His project will be done by the time we take our trip so he can unwined a bit.

I have a hard time leave our 3 fur babies for a week although my sister and niece look in on them several times. I told DH maybe we need a web cam and we could check in on them when we vacation and he thought that was a good idea. Now we just need to research web cams and how to set one up.

I would love to go to Disney. We always have a great time and it is one place where your can do as much or as little as you want. But for whatever reason I can't seem to go ahead and book the flights!

So I was hoping my fellow DCV family could help me out here and give me your input:scratchin

Do you are your DH like Star Wars? The SW weekends start May 20th. If you go in earlier May you do Flower and Garden. Have you thought about staying at a DVC resort you never tried before? There's that new tour Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom.

Or to be completely different, do a non park vacation with some spa treatments and hanging around the pool, maybe Cirque du Soleil, putt putt or golfing, rent some sea racers or a pontoon, dine at restaurants at other Disney resorts, the Swan and Dolphin or even off property.

I do hope you can get away. My DH had worked very hard in February and slipped and fell on ice and was working hard with a cast. Even though I didn't work this winter, because of an operation, we had booked a Spring Break cruise because, we thought I would be working and we knew we would want a get away after the winter.

So...my Spring Break begins on Saturday, and we are both so looking forward to it you would think we never have been to Disney or on a Cruise.

I have a fur baby and I hate to leave her, but I know she will be taken care of. This is for DH and me.

We are not into Star Wars but we are into the flowers especially after the winter we have had. We do love to ride the sea racers and do it every trip. Hard for a person who has a fear of water to say she actually LOVES the sea racers. Thanks to CM who convinced me to just try it and if I was too scared, to come back and there would be no charge. Well an hour later and I was hooked!

We read Kathy Werlings report and saw her pictures of Africa Trek and we would like to do that too.

Bobbi have fun. Sounds like you need it!

May is one of the nicest times of year to go. Usually beautiful weather and before the summer crowds. We hate leaving our dog when we go, but believe me, you will be happy to have the break and enjoy the fun.

Go for it.....I booked a May short 3 night trip last month when I saw cheap airfares.......hubby and I are going to take it slow and enjoy the warm weather......I understand about your fur babies...for this trip my daughter will take care of ours

We're going in May. I love this time of year. Usually it's not too hot. Unfortunately last year was a scorcher - it just means more time at the pool. We've rented a car this year and will be traveling off-site for several days. It will be nice to see what the surrounding area has to offer. DH already knows that the outlet mall is on my agenda. :goodvibes

Well hello neighbor! Yes I would love to go to the outlet mall especially since Vera Bradley is opening a store there this week!

You would be amazed at what you will discover when you have a car and can go off site. Especailly if you don't do the dinning plan and eat off site can save lots of $$$$. Plus its nice to have the freedom to go where ever.

I think the hubby is very close to convincing me to buy the tickets tonight! Hope I can agree.

Maybe you really need a vacation and that is reason behind the planning funk. :confused3 Thay may sound a bit illlogical, but some alone with the DH might do you good. Keep the planning a minimum and just go and enjoy yourselves. It seems like all the stars are aligned for this trip and telling you should go. :thumbsup2

Wow -- couldn't pass up that many obvious signs that all say GO! The furry ones will be fine -- and will really love you up extra when you get home!

Mine hate it when the suitcase comes out, and I wish timeshares and DVCs could accept pets (but I totally understand why they don't) -- they are hard to leave, but they get lots of my time, and I love to travel so I make that trade-off sometimes.

You have to know everyone here is jealous and wishes we all had this choice to make. Hope you've already bought those tix!

:) There is no buyers remorse when flyng to Orlando (imagine me doing my Jedi mind trick)--you will now make your resort reservation:darth: and have fun.

Waiting for the 9:00 hour to come so I can call DVC. I called earlier this week and they had rooms at all the resorts but hope for a split stay of AKL and SSR.

Rooms at all resorts, that's just amazing!

I really enjoy going to the F&G show. Before we owned at DVC, we went down for a long weekend and now I book some extra weekdays too!:goodvibes

Sounds like a great trip. And just think, your trip countdown is so short! Now, get cutting on those ADR's.:goodvibes
