Help! I'm Having Photography Issues?

Hello Ladies:

I am so confused about what I should be purchasing for photography.
I have Maxine Pollakis for my Intimate Wedding Coordinator. She is so sweet but really doesn't have much time for all my little questions.

I upgraded my intimate photography to a Cinderella's Package. It comes with the low resolution cd.
I have read so many posts about people not being happy with their selections.
Do I really need to pay $1,000 for the high resolution cd???
If I purchase just the proofs, will that enable me to print pictures of any size I choose?
I was hoping to be able to pick the photos I love and then have copies made in any size I choose....
If anyone could clear this up for me.........I would really appreciate it!

Gabriella, how much is the package that you are adding on? We are using Randy Chapman to take photos throughout the entire day, and his intimate package is at a pretty reasonable price. If he's not available there are other local photographers that could offer you actual proofs cheaper than Disney.

I used Disney for my wedding pictures and I am quite happy with the results...and there are several other recent brides who were also happy. The thing is, you have to fully understand what you are getting with the packages.

With the low-res CD, you will be able to email the images, and use them on your computer. You *might* be able to print small versions (i.e. 3x5/wallet) sizes.

If you can wait 3 years for the hi-res CD, it will only cost $99 then. Most of the brides who used Disney are choosing to wait the three years to purchase the hi-res CD.

The proofs you get are 4x6 prints of every picture taken. I suppose you could have them scanned and re-printed but that would be a violation of Disney's copyright...and the quality would probably only allow a little bit of an enlargement (maybe to a 5x7).

You can, of course, pick any pictures you choose and have enlargements made from Disney's website after your ceremony. But it is a bit expensive.

I agree with Ashley. I using Randy for mine, and I get a HIGH res cd with everything, that is mine, I can make all the prints I want in any size and I own the copyright so I don't have to pay him to get my copies. Plus I just love his style.

I have Randy's basic pacakage (3 hours) PLUS I added Black and White, and 1 extra hour to cover the dinner.

It's running us $725.00 I think it was 100 extra for the hour, and 100 extra for b&w But i could be wrong I don't have the contract infront of me just my notes. Plus I had a coupon out of the disney weddings book.

This gets me all of my pics in 4x5 in an album (he said about 150 or so) and all of them on HIGH res cd so I can print my own.

Thanks melmel. We're just at the preliminary budget planning stage, but a friend of mine told me recently that she and her DH paid $4000 for photography and I about fell over

We also used Randy for our intimate wedding it cost us around $600. He told us that we would get about 150 pics and we ended up with over 350. Also, his quality allows for reproductions up to 20x30 instead of disneys 8x10. I would definately consider him instead of upgrading the disney package. We were able to use our credit from disney for a honeymoon photography package at the animal kingdom for 50 dollars. Hope this helps.
