HELP! Ikea

So I went to a local thrift stroe and fell in love with this lamp. It has a tag on it that says ikea. I went to ikeas site and about a million others hunting for a second lamp like this. Can anyone tell me what this lamp is called or where I can get another one (or somthing simlar)? It turns so it looks like a solid cylinder and is wall mounted

I shop at Ikea fairly often and I don't remember seeing that lamp, which makes me think they haven't carried it in a while. If no one on the Dis knows what it is, it might be worth asking on the forums at http://www.ikeafans.com/ . They seem to know quite a bit about the different Ikea products. Good luck!

It looks like something that would be more of a store fixture rather than something they would sell.

Maybe someone bought it at a going out of business sale.

I would definintely be looking for another one as it looks like that thing has some decent scorch marks on the cords. I'd also be questioning buying something in a store that had a rug that was that filthy.

Been down the ebay road, nada! there not scorch marks there spray paint marks since my mom spray painted it when she was visiting.

Not IKEA, but it looks just like the factory installed under the desk lamp that came with DD's bookcase that sits over her desk. It takes an aquarium bulb.

Bad news that if it is, the lamp came with the desk that my parents bought for me about 35 years ago....

I'll do some more searching tonight.

I had 2 of those lamps for my DDs. They attach to the wall and you can either leave the lamp "open" (when you want to use it) or swivel the metal part and it covers the bulb.

I gave one to a friend, but I will gladly check and see if we still have the other one stored somewhere. If we do, you are more than welcome to it!!

I can't make any promises though, DH hates clutter and could possibly given it to good will.

Also, I purchased them at least 8 years ago from Ikea, so I doubt you will have any luck there.

OMG- thanks for all the infromation! I kinda figured the lamp was quite old. I spent many hours last night looking at old ikea magizines and couldnt find it.

To answer a pp question, it was originally white. And it's really not that old, I know ours is only about 5 years or so, but probably not still available at Ikea.

I think they are called under shelf lights, or cabinet lights. It would have been nice to have been told the light was spray painted in the OP, although it was rather evident.

wow is right, some people can be really rude. Im moving and I have had people in and out so YES my rug is dirty... GASP!
