I am looking for ideas for nods to Disney for our wedding.

Due to our experience with DFTW, we will not be having a DFTW.

But, we would still love to incorporate some Disney things.

Nothing over the top though, but I was thinking hidden Mickeys?

Things you wouldn't know were Disney unless we told you.

Any ideas?

A Hidden Mickey in your bouquet. I glued a rhinestone HM on the holder of my bouquet.

A HM on your garter.

A Mad Hatter cake...doesn't even have to be Disney Themed (though if you have scrolls on it, you can easily incorporate some HMs. )

I had Mickey head shaped Pomadors...which would be quite obvious, but they were still really cute.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head, I'll keep on thinking!!

I love the idea of doing Disney subtly and tastefully. Do you and your fiance have a favorite park, attraction or resort? You could pull elements from one or a couple of your favorites. For example if you are a fan of Fantasyland in the MK, you could use their color scheme (purples, blues, pinks, silver and gold). If teacups is your favorite ride, maybe give little packets of tea to your guests with a custom designed tag to match your wedding colors. Your possibilities are endless! : )

Of course hidden Mickey's are also an easy way to include Disney in your wedding. I just pinned a bouquet done with buttons in the shape of Mickey's that I thought was brilliant and so tasteful:

Best of luck with your planning!

My fiance and I are also doing a disney-themed wedding, not at WDW because it was just too difficult for everyone to get there. We too wanted it to be elegant and not too obvious or garish.

Some of the things we're doing:
- Disney-named specialty drinks (ie The Minnie, The Mickey, etc)
- Minnie and Mickey favors (check ebay- there are some neat and inexpensive soaps, candles, cookies, candies and such)
- Mickey confetti on the tables - not too much to make it obvious, but just a little to add sparkle
- our ring bearer pillow has a hidden Mickey if you look at it from the top with the ribbon :)
- our invitations are also mickey/minnie
- on my bouquet there's going to be a Donald Duck pin (my late grandmother's favorite character and also my something blue ;) )
- our head table also is going to have minnie and mickey plush characters incorporated into the floral arrangement
- a few of the uplighting lights on the walls are going to be hidden mickeys :)

Sorry if these things are too obvious and not what you're looking for, but just thought I'd throw them out there :)

Best of luck with planning and I hope it goes exactly as you wish! :)

Before FH & I decided on a DFTW at WDW..
We were just going to add Hidden Mickey's into our wedding.

Our Ideas:

Mickey Cufflinks
Crystal Mickey Heads on Bottom Of Heels
Swarovski Crystal Veil with Hidden Crystal Mickey Heads
Hidden Mickeys in our Monogram
Hidden Crystal Mickeys in Bouquet
Hidden Mickey On Garter
Ect Ect

My fiance and i just got engaged in front of the castle last month. of course our dream would be to get married at Disney but we just don't have money for that...so Disney theme it is. my ideas are a slide show of our trip / proposal at Disney, instead of table numbers have them be Disney couples (belle and beast, Cinderella and prince, etc) and I really like the hidden mickey idea but i would make it a game. I'm up for ideas too, since I'm just beginning to plan, so this is a great forum.

We are also having a subtly themed disney wedding. Some things we are doing:

-Mickey chocolates as favors.
-A photobooth and we are picking up mickey ears to throw in the props bin
-Under our centerpeices we are putting a white plate with mickey ears around the edges
-Our toasting glasses our from Arriba brothers with minnie and mickey on them
-I am wearing Mickey keds to the reception
-We have a disney themed precious moments cake topper

We did a Disney Themed wedding at home!
Instead of table numbers we did disney characters for each table.
We also had individual cakes on each table and orginally were going to do the cakes around that represented that character table (you can buy figurines at the disney store). We ended up not doing it...but had friends that got married In disney in July..and they took this idea and used it when they did their at home reception and it turned out really cute. They also had a carriage made out of balloons that looked like cinderellas coach...and they had desserts on it.
We had a clear cinderella and prince charming on the top of our cake(I think Wilton might have made it).
We had a candy table...and it was very disneyfied! My husband had bought me the disney plaques that have different sayings on them from hallmark so we had those on there...and we had found very small stuff mickey and minnie bride and groom. We also hand stamped each bag with a disney saying.
We got married outside and our music we had for the ceremony was Disney music....no words...just the acoustic versions.
We also had an AMAZING person that did our ceremony for us...and she incorporated our love for disney(and we were engaged at disney) during the ceremony by sprinking "pixie dust" on us...I still have the extra pixie dust!
My photographer actually photoshopped tink into one of our pictures as she was sprinkling us with pixes dust.
I have pictures if you are interested in seeing how things turned out!
My bridal headpiece had some hidden mickeys in it...allow i will admit this was not intentional...just happened to be the one i feel in love with!
Good Luck and have a ton of fun! We got SOO many compliments on how everything fit us so well...but it wasn't over the top...it allowed us to put our own personal touches on everything

Where did you get your head piece???

My Husband to be and I are having a Disney themed wedding in New York, due to budget reasons. We are having a 9 inch Vinylmation as our guestbook and a castle cake topper with Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom Vinylmations. I'm walking down the aisle to Beauty and the Beast and our first dance song is I see the light from Tangled. We are also planning on doing Mickey Mouse Pomadors for the flower girls and hidden mickeys throughout the reception area. Oh and today i just bought the Ears with the diamond on the top for my bachlorette party and Bridal shower.

Then we are honeymooning at WDW at POFQ. We are wearing the Bride and Groom hats and plan on making Tee's at DTD with our wedding date on them!

We also had individual cakes on each table and orginally were going to do the cakes around that represented that character table (you can buy figurines at the disney store).

I love the idea of having individual cakes on each table that represent something Disney.. I never thought of this before! Thank you for posting!

I found a statue from Lennox of Mickey and Minnie for my cake topper. This will probably be the most obvious nod to Disney in my entire wedding.

A very subtle nod I enjoy will be our first dance. Our song will be Ne Yo's Never Knew I Needed from the Princess and the Frog. Most people won't even know it's Disney but the song and the movie means so much to us it will truly be meaningful without being over the top.
