Hi
I need help! We are flying into Orlando Sat morning and departing 9/17 which is a Sun. We are having problems with return flight from Orlando. There is a much better flight for us out of Tampa. I need to know how to get to Tampa airport! How much will it cost me? It is approx 77 miles from WDW. There are 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 children

Is there any type of shuttle or bus service available?

I am looking to do this as inexpensively as possible.

Thanks

I suggest you call the limo services. No bus or shuttle that I am aware of.
Or, you could rent a car for the day.

Hi,
There's no shuttle I'm aware of. We're also flying in and out of Tampa for our Oct trip.
Here's some info from the Tampa airport website :
http://www.tampaairport.com/ground_transportation/orlando.html
There is Greyhound bus service.....but........
We find it cheaper to just rent a car. You can rent them on wdw property. I'd think that would be your absolutely cheapest option. Not sure what a limo would cost, but I think it would be higher than a small rental car. The Tampa website says it should take 2 hours from Orlando to Tampa, but we've always been able to make it in 90 min or less unless there is very, very heavy traffic. For example, you can rent from the Grosvner Hotel in DD (this is a Dollar location). They will most likely even deliver the car for you if you make arrangements. You can rent from National at 1) Buena Vista Palace hotel Phone : (407)827-6363
2) WDW car care center: Phone : (407)824-3470
You might get better rates/discounts booking online with either Dollar or National.

You can find rental discount codes on this site : http://www.mousesavers.com/transportation.html

Hope this helps !

Rent a car for the ride to Tampa. It's an incredibly easy ride. I actually did it without making any mistakes or wrong turns. Tampa Intnl is a terrific airport, very easy to navigate. We were very impressed with it. We left POP at around 8:45 on a Sat morning in May, and got to the Doubletree Guest Suites, about a mile or so from the airport, at about 10:20ish.
There are lots of places you can rent a car at WDW. We rented from Alamo at the Dolphin. We just went to Epcot for the day and then walked over to the Dolphin to get the car. Very easy. There is also a Car Care Center close to MK that will pick you up at your resort and bring you to the rental counter. There are several car rental companies in the hotels in DTD.

I am flying back home from Tampa to Milwaukee, and I just found a great rate at Dollar, use KISS2 for a rate code. You can pick up your car at DTD at the Govsnor Hotel, and now on my e-mail, they told me to call them if I need a shuttle to pick me up. You can get a Dodge Neon for $18 a day, plus tax, my husband wanted something bigger, so I upgraded to a Intermediate, for $24 a day plus tax.

You can drop it off at the Tampa airport too.

I thought this was pretty good, I was call the shuttle services that are listed here and on Mousesavers and they were quoting me over $120 for just the 2 of us to go to Tampa.

I agree with the car rental. The one time we took a cab it cost the airline that put us on it over $200. We once checked several car services for quotes and they were also in the $200 range, and several said they weren't licesenced to operate from there, we'd have to take a shuttle to a nearby hotel where they would pick us up.

My suggestion is the same as the OP, rent a car from Alamo at the Dolphin and drive to the Tampa airport. We made it from WDW to TPA in about 1 hour 20 min. We just came back on 8/28. You take I-4 to the end and that will dump you onto I-275 and follow signs to the airport. The dropoff for Alamo is on the airport property but not right next to the terminal as in MCO. Security was a breeze in TPA and the airport was not crowded at all. :thumbsup2

Any other ?'s about TPA just PM me.
