Help!! I need ideas for International food day Thanksgiving

My dd brought home a paper saying that they are having an International Food day for Thanksgiving at school. Her class has been assigned American food-no desserts. Everytime I think of an idea I think about it for a while and then am able to tie it to another country. Does anyone know of a neat all American food to bring in that is not a dessert? Thanks everyone.

I don't know if this is "neat" or not, but how about macaroni and cheese (homemade)? I tried doing a search to see if it is considered "American" and only found two hits that seemed to let me believe it is. If it isn't, hopefully someone here will say so.

Cranberries are very American. Could she make mini-cranberry muffins? Not a desert, but a bread.

What about hamburgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, BBQ meats, clam chowder, chicken pot pie, there are countless other things. Did you do an internet search? Try things like "ethnic recipes american"

Can you pick a specific area or type of American cuisine? Maybe even native american? Or Pennsylvania Dutch, Amish, deep southern..... you have a multitude of American favorites to choose from!

Thanksgiving foods are some of the only foods that are really American because they're made with ingredients from this area. Anything with corn, cranberries, pumpkin, squash, etc. should be fine. I think sweet potatoes are from here too.
