I painted the bathroom today and as I was sliding the mirror back into place, it slipped and a corner of it broke into pieces. The mirror is 24"W x 40"H and is mounted over the sink. The missing piece is 2" W x 9"H and is in the upper left corner.

Any suggestions on how to cover this up? The walls are gray and the tiles are several shades of gray with a plum theme as well. The house is not ultra modern, but is more modern than country or colonial. If this happened in my other house, I would probably get some euchaliptis (spelling  ) and other things and make some type of spray to place in that corner. I am not sure that type of thing would fit in with my decor.

Thanks for any advice.

I know it has to be heart breaking to be that close to having your project finished and yet be so far. Could you possibly find a matching tile or something to compliment it and make a partial border on opposite corners (bottom right) of your mirror.

I like that idea Chessie. I think you are onto something!

You are right. It was heart breaking to be putting the finishing touches on the bathroom and suddenly a huge blemish. It is the first and I think only thing my husband noticed! He has not even commented on the paint job. . Oh well. I just feel fortunate that I did not get cut. My instinct was to grab the mirror as it fell and luckily I did not grab the broken part. That was some serious broken glass.
