Help! I have 2 reservations and need to cancel one- don't know how to decide!

The trip will be me, DH, and our triplets (age 5) Nov 29- Dec 6 (Value Season). We really liked the idea and ease of the MYW + Dining package, so we booked a package through AAA. Since it's so far out, I can cancel the package now with AAA with no penalties. I also have a room only reservation at WL with a AAA rate.

The package with AAA is $4800 for 7 nights at WL- 2 rooms, Woods View, MYW + Dining for 7 days, 6 day Park hopper tickets.

The Room Only (same rooms) AAA rate is $3044.

I need to cancel one, but I can't decide! We like having the Dining plan, but I don't know if it's worth keeping or not. We will be doing lots of character meals, etc with the kids. If AP rates or Room Only General Public Rates come out, I'd probably end up saving more for the room. THAT IS, if I could get the same rooms at WL!

So Vets, please help! Should I just keep the package and say I'm done, or cancel it and wait out codes?

What would you do?

Not sure if it is just me, but 2 WL woods view rooms during value season at $3044 seems pretty high for room only... That is $1522 per room for 7 nights..break that down and it is $217 per night and that is high for WL woods view in value season. You may be better off getting at least one AP and going for an AP rate. At that time of year they usually have AP rates

these are AP rates that have been listed, the first is for value season (that is just ending now) and the second is for peak season (which starts on 2/17)...so even at peak season, it is still less than AAA in value?????

Just remember you can't count on a rate.....Book what you want & can afford & if a rate comes out that saves you money, great, icing on the cake.....

Just my opinion, but for the price of two woods view WL rooms you could get a standard room at Poly or GF and be right on the monorail, and have the ferry. GF and Poly rooms are also bigger than WL rooms and can easily accomodate 5. Just a thought.

I think that is an excellent idea as well

Consider renting points from a DVC member. You can get a 2 bedroom unit at the WL villas for about $2700. for the week. This would include a full kitchen and laundry room---very useful with children!!! Check the DVC rental board for more info.

and have kept the room only. We'll just pay for food as we go (gives us more flexibility and choice anyway). Now I'll just wait and see if any codes come out!

We have two room at WL woods view for the second week of December. Total room only coast with AAA was $3479.00. So the price sounds right for 7 nights. for got to add it is for 8 nights. I was quoted this price by Disney CRO and Dreams Unlimited.
