Family going 11/1-119 at Poly and not sure what to bring. I normally overpack but with the fees for second suitcases, I have to try and do 1 suitcase ( not over 50lbs) if I can.I was thinking one bathsuit, but DW says I should bring two. Planning only one or two days at Poly pool, but even for everyday parkhopping, and dinner at places like Hoop-dee-doo, Ohanu and others, not sure what to wear.

Should I bring dress shoes?

How do I get the best Idea of what to bring?

Pack as light as you can....you can always rinse our your bathing suit or doing laundrey there. Bring a pair of black pants and a couple of tops to mix and match for dinner and one pair of dress shoes/sandles to go with them. Have a great trip!!:goodvibes

Less is best! one bathing suit is fine. Do you plan to do any laundry? That will help some. I pack in Space Bags, so I can fit much more in my suitcase. Truthfully, I don't think we have ever brought dress shoes. Of course, it's a personal choice. Have a great time!

Here's a few things I took IN the parks in my, yes, fanny pack!!!

I didn't want to lug a backpack or my purse, so I downsized and carried these things: Park Tickets, chap stick, tylenol, debit card, camera, band aids, room key and an index card with all our dinner ressies and info on them!!

Good luck!;)

I always drive, so I do not have to worry about suitcase limits, but It seems that a lot of people who fly, but don't want to pay for the extra suitcase will ship items to themselves at the hotel before they arrive and it is usually cheaper than extra luggage fees. Just a thought for you to consider.:goodvibes

I never take dress shoes. Wear tennis shoes and take flip flops. We are sending stuff to ourselves the week prior to our arrival. Just the extras, some breakfast stuff, few snacks, maybe drinks and then toothpaste etc... all the stuff that can take up room in the suitcase and weigh alot.

We always fly but we travel during the summer. I would only take one bathing suit. However, I would take long pants, preferrably not jeans because they weigh more, so capris, light pants, etc. Another thing we learned in scouts is that by rolling your clothes (you know, like a sleeping bag) you can get more into your suitcase. (I always thought that that was preposterous because I thought laying them flat, unfolded would work better, but much to my DS's delight I was wrong!).

Since you have a 5yo with you I would mail perishables, like juice boxes, cereals, etc. to your resort for something is have in your room for him as a snack, etc.

DH has never brought dress shoes with him. He wears his tennies on the plane, brings flips for pool and pair of sandals. One pair of tan slacks and can mix or match his polos. Last trip (Sept) he did bring 2 swim suits but usually only one. Packed one or two long sleeved t and 3 polos, light weight jacket. We were there for 8 days and I did some laundry as needed. Less is best in our opinion.
