I'm a WDW newbie. I have an 8:05 am reservation tomorrow for Cinderellas table. Staying offsite. How do we get from the parking lot to the entrance? My confirmation email said the monorail probably won't be running. It looks too far to walk. The ferries don't start running til 8:30?

I called Disney twice and they told me twice that I don't need monorail or ferry. They said just park and walk in. But it looks like there's a lagoon in between! Parking at the Contemporary sounds good.

they probably will not let you park at the contemporary if you are not staying there and are not eating there (like at chef mickey's or something). even if you do it will be a 3 hour pass and you're going to have to move it. Not really practical.

I am pretty sure that the resort monorail is running at that time of morning, just not the express monorail to the MK - if you get on the resort side you should be able to take it (with a couple of stops) to the MK.

How long will it take to get from the parking lot to the main entrance?

You'll need to decide where you are going to park, general parking means you have to get the tram from the parking lot to the Transportation and Ticket Center, the TTC is where the Ferry is and Monorails are. If the monorail is running, you can take that to Magic Kingdom entrance. If the ferry is running, you can do that instead if you want.

If you want to get closer, you can pay for Valet parking at the Contemporary Resort, and then take the walking path from there to the front of Magic Kingdom, could take 15-20 minutes to get to the front. Or you can take the monorail from inside the resort if it is running.

Once you get into MK using your early ADR, head towards the castle, walk until you get to Cinderella's Royal Table entrance located in the castle.

I'm not sure you can park at the Contemporary if you aren't a guest there, or eating there. You should call their front desk directly to find out.

So from the valet parking to her table will be 30 mins?

That may be optimistic, perhaps between 30-45 mins, I've never timed the walk myself, there is one intersection to cross, plus not sure how long for you guys to cross the security and front gate, or generally how fast or slow you walk.

I suggested valet, not self park. They should not be denying you if you are paying for valet parking, it doesn't matter if you are a staying at a Disney hotel or not if you are paying $25 for valet, you don't need to ask special permission to valet park, it is a paid for service they offer.

There was no option for valet parking the way we came in. We paid $20 to park in the main lot, then walked to the monorail/ferry entrance. The monorail was closed even though I called last night to check and they told me it would be open. So we took the ferry then we were able to walk to the castle. We left the house at 7:10 am, drove for about 22 minutes, and arrived at the check-in desk at 8:12. So it took 40 minutes from parking. Most of that time was eaten up by the ferry.

I would just park at the TTC and if the monorail and/or ferry aren't running, a bus will be. It's a short ride over, regardless of form of transportation, however I would budget for a 1/2 hour after you're parked to be at the MK gates. So for your 8:05 ADR, I would want to be parked at the TTC by 7:30 at the latest.

Yes, theme parks don't offer valet park.

You would have had to go to a resort hotel to valet park, specifically I was suggesting The Contemporary because it is the only Disney resort within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom.

Good news, you made it. :flower1:

This is exactly why calling Disney to ask question is the worse thing to do. You'd think they'd know that is not possible but seeing how the call center you reached is not on site it's not a surprise they don't know
As you have learned by now, this is impossible.

We found last year that while the express monorail wasn't running till 8:30 AM, the Resort Monorail is running much earlier. (7:00 AM I believe is when they open) We road the resort monorail and it stopped at Poly, GF, and then we were at the gate.

I recommend getting to the TTC early enough to explain your situation. They will direct you to the right place.
