ride closed. Storming. Do we have still
Show up or will they automatically let us use later? Don’t know rules? We are resting in room so not sure if can hang here longer or do need still go if most rides closed anyway. Thx!!

If the ride is still closed at the beginning of your FP window, a replacement/multiple experience pass will automatically replace the FP

You should receive an email and/or a notice in the MDE app (the fastpass will have an image of balloons and labeled as "multiple experiences")
If you open the email/fastpass, it will give you a list of attractions that it can be redeemed at any time until park close

The Multiple Experience “Anytime FP” is a Bonus FP that will be added to your account.

You can rebook your regular FP for something that is open after the storm passes and save your Anytime Bonus FP for the ride that was downed.

Just curious...do you know for sure the ride was closed?

Yes, it probably was. We just got back from MK about 10 minutes ago. From about 1pm to 2pm we had a wicked t-storm...even by FL standards it was pretty nasty. They shut down every outdoor ride, we even got kicked out of CoP mid-ride.

Wait, why would they kick you out of an indoor ride due to a thunderstorm? was there a tornado warning or something?

They said it was because they had no more room to exit guests. Everyone was taking shelter in the CoP entrance/exit area. Funny enough, the CM came in while we were watching the scene from the 1920s...for the second time (the ride was going slow as they were trying to move guests away from the exit). She told us to get up and leave right as we got to the part where the father "blew the fuse" and the entire theater went pitch black.

It was a bad storm. Vivid lightning, torrential rain, you could hear it inside the theater.

This is covered in the Everything FP thread
last bullet in the Basics topic

This is a good time to mention to make sure and turn on the notifications for your MDE app when you are down there. I normally don't like notifications but this is when you need them. Not only will MDE send out an email but it will send you an notification from the app and will pop up on your phone (and to your wearable device if you have one) so helps make sure you know about it.

Sounds like the weather we've had for the past 6 days moved down there. 6 solid days of vivid, pop up, torrential storms. Vicious thunder and lightening. 2" of rain an hour was normal. Finally got a break today.

I have a question about that Anytime FP - is it just for the day it's issued? Or just for your entire trip? Do you have to use it at the park you're at when you got it? Or can you use it on another day at a different park? Sorry to hijack!

If it's for anytime other than the last hour of the day, it's for that park for that day only.

Just finished a week-long stay, and had several rides that shut down for weather during our FP windows. MDE updated automatically all but once, and when the update didn't appear for that instance, it was a quick visit to guest relations for an update. I was only emailed 25% of the time with notification of the changes, so not sure what happened there. That's why I check both, I guess :)

To add.....Guest relations can also change it for you. We had 2 different days at Epoct where our TT FP's were cancelled due to weather. The first the ride went down while we were in line. We waited a bit then needed to leave due to an ADR....in MK. I stopped at GS and explained we were leaving Epcot for dinner in MK and wouldn't be back and they changed our anytime FP to MK. The 2nd time, also Epcot and TT we had 2 different FP's both go to anytimes. TT didn't reopen until 20 minutes before park close. We were able to use 1 of them. Again stopped at GS and asked for the 2nd to be changed to MK. They also offered to extend it to the following day...but that was sadly our go home day.

regards
