Help! Help! Help! Need Sw Credit

Because of FREE Dining I need a southwest credit. We were supposed to take a quick trip in May and I have booked air with southwest. Now DH says we can go for 9, count them, 9 glorious days in Aug with free dining provided we get our air fare credit to go to our Aug trip..... HELP!

What do you do? I know you get a credit if the price goes down for the exact same flight... but do you get credit if you want to change the dates? Anyone know the answer?

Yes, you could cancel and put the credit on hold (ticketless travel funds). They are only booking up to 8/3 now. When the schedules come out for after 8/3, you can book the reservation and use the credit.

Not to worry.....yes, you can get the credit for changing your dates. However, only flights up to 8/3 have been released as of now. I suspect within the next week or two SW will be releasing until probably end of Sept.
You just need to go to Travel Center on the SW main page menu. Once you're in Travel Center you'll have a whole list of options......go down to changing a flight. When the screen comes up it will ask for your ressie # and then the name of the person whose credit card was used for the purchase. Your entire ressie will pop up. You just check the boxes of the flights you wish to change and then follow the instructions. I think a second screen will come up asking for your new information. You can also just cancel your May flights now and just have SW hold the credit until the fares for August have been released. Just make sure you keep the original reservation information since you will need that to access your credit funds. I've done it both ways with no problems. That's the beauty of SW.....you can make as many changes as you want without any extra charges!!!! I love Southwest!!! Just make sure to keep checking the SW website because those August fares are due soon and you want to make sure you get the lowest fares.
