Hello and thanks to anyone that reads this and/or responds. I really appreciate any help from all you experts.

We will be in Southern California October 24-31st. I actually won a week luxury house rental in Encinatas thru work. I have only been to Disneyland once, 20 years ago for a day trip.I have been to Disneyworld 4 times. I am no expert and when I read all these trip reports I am in awe. So many people know so much about anything Disney.

Anyways, I will get to the point. I can not visit California WITHOUT a day visit to Disney. Just not happening. So, I see that Disneyland is having their Halloween festivities during this time. So I have a couple of questions and foreseen dilemmas. I am hoping to hit Disney during the week and not on a weekend. So either Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday.

- Would it be beneficial to get tickets for the Halloween party? and only go to the park during those hours? My understanding is you can get into the park a few hours before the party starts? Is it packed during these parties?

-I know Disney has early magic hours if you stay at a Disney hotel. So...all those quests will be arriving to the park an hour earlier than a regular guest. The parks will be packed on those days. Do they normally have EMH the same day as the Halloween Party? I see right now during my stay....the party is on Tuesday and Thursday night. They have not released hours yet for October. My guess is probably the EMH will be on Monday and Wednesday of that week. I am hoping that is not the case.

If it is not the case...we would probably be best to go on Monday or Wednesday.

If that would be the case...if you only had one day to go...would it be

A. During EMH even though you will not be able to get in early
B. During the Halloween party, not having Halloween tickets and leave when the party starts.
c. Get tickets for the Halloween party and go to the park at that time.

I hope this all makes sense and would be grateful for any input.

If you are only planning one day, I would go on Wednesday...a non MHP day. Get a Park Hopper too so you can go into California Adventure.
EMH on Wed will be at DCA, so get to the park when they open and start at DL.

I agree with Girimama33 -- if you only have one day, skip MHP and go on the non-MHP day. As she said, start in DL while the EMH folks are in DCA.

Wednesday is my favorite day of the week to hit Disneyland. Crowds are generally lighter for a good portion of the day. However, I have also found that MM/EMH days during non-peak seasons are not bad. Early entry only impacts select attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. It's just not the same as WDW. You can still get a lot done at regular opening on MM day if you hit other areas of the park.

sounds like me, going to California the exact same days and haven't been to disneyland but once 20 years ago. Indiana Jones had just opened. We are going to the parks the 1st half of the trip and making our way to San Francisco.
