Help! Having surgery and I think I'm sick!

Granted, my surgery isn't until January 7, but that is little over a week away and I think I have a sinus infection! Would antibiotics cause the surgery to be postponed or would it be an extra added procaution against infection? Any advice would be helpful!

I would call your doctor ASAP. Get the infection taken care of and ask the doctor if it will affect the surgery.

I would call your PCP right away too. My surgery is scheduled for Jan. 8th and I am watching who I am in contact with. I wanted to go to the movies but then decided against it, too germy.

Did you need a medical clearance because that is done like a week before surgery.

Also I have a phone number of the pre admission nurse at the hospital too, do you have something like that where they could answer your questions etc. Best of luck to you. Feel better.

Thank you both for your answers. I'm not 100% sure if it's allergies or a sinus infection so I'll probably end up going to the doctor just in case.

Good luck! I had surgery December 10, and I was SO scared I'd be sick. I teach 7th graders, so I'm exposed to germs all the time! Drink lots and lots of fluids, take some Sudafed, and wash your hands like crazy! I now have the start of a cold, but since I'm past surgery, I'm OK with it, though I'm drinking tons of fluids and taking my vitamins diligently.

I'm having my ACL reconstructed so right now I'm happy I can walk to get myself something to drink or go to the restroom because in a week and a half, I won't be able to do that for a while.
