Thanks to a post on here yesterday by z4ltw I have discovered that the weekend we are in US is also Grad Bash. If I'm spending all this money to stay on site and flying to Florida I want to know should I be changing my dates? I don't want to group all teenagers as being a problem, but I really don't relish spending my holidays with hundreds of them. When I was at WDW a couple of years ago the Cheer squads were there...and although we only ran into them a few times they were loud and quite annoying when we did. What I guess I want to know:

1. Are the students just there the two evenings or are the parks going to be full of them all day as well.

2. Will they be staying on-site in the hotels? ...again I don't expect that a bunch of celebrating teens will be particularly quiet in the late evening and I have 2 young kids.

3. Should I be avoiding CityWalk on the Fri/Sat night as well?

I appreciate any imput before I start looking to change date.

Thanks

1. Its hard to say, its all up the the schools, the school I will be going with (going on April 15th) we spend the day at City Walk, shopping and eating, we see a movie, then we go to our pre-party, the only time were in the parks is during the actual Grad Bash. Some other schools will be most likely be in the parks but it won't be anymore noticeable then the majority of teens that already visit the parks.
2. Once again, its possible for there to be groups in site, I can't imagine it much of a problem though because when the teens return to the rooms that late at night, they'll be partied out.
3. No, there is a pre-party in City Walk, but the teens will be contained in one area, once the pre-party ends they will be going straight into the parks, after 8 you won't see teens again until Grad Bash ends.

And if this is any reassurance Universal is very very very strict and tight on security when it comes to Grad Bash, when it comes to rules they are no-nonsense. Break a rule, and your out, and possibly the rest of your school is out too.

Thanks so much...I'm feeling a little better about the whole idea. I'm not trying to sound like I'm down on teens...most of them will probably be well supervised and behaved, and it actually sounds like they will be attending things away from everyone else.

Do many of the teens stay over at the hotels or is this more a FL thing where they just come for the night?

I think I'll just put in a room request that I'm away from any Grad groups staying at the hotel (it can't hurt to ask) and stick with my original plans.

You have to register your school in order to go so it's mainly local. It's the same with Gradventure...mainly local kids so I doubt many stay overnight.
