This is our first time going to WDW. The whole family is going...grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles,etc...and I just found out we're going during Pop Warner week. I didn't even know what Pop Warner was until this evening. Can anyone tell me if we should reschedule(enduring cancellation costs)? We have all our reservations in place as well as reservations for Cinderella Royal Table - Breakfast! But, judging from the horrible stories that take place during Pop Warner - I'm rethinking...Totally need your insights!

Freaking Out,

We will be there that week as well. There are many posts from people that have been there the week PW was going on.
Most have said it is not a problem. With the exception of the Value resorts (some Mods as well) since they stay there.
We are not concerned. Hopefully, it will be a non issue.:goodvibes

We were there the exact same week as PW last year. We were there Sun -Sat. I did not notice one single group of kids until Friday. We did encounter a few obxoxious teens but there were 100 well behaved kids for every one bad one. Most were with an adult and they were well behaved.

Unless you are staying at one of the value resorts, you should be fine! I'll be there too!

We were there last year during POP Warner week. Like you, I didn't even know what it was. I was worried too. We were at Caribbean Beach Resort and didn't notice a thing (except literally about 10 boys walking around in football jerseys)! I was afraid the parks were going to be crowded, but they weren't. The week after Thanksgiving up until the week before Christmas is one of the slower times at Disney. You'll be fine- enjoy your trip :)

I've been to WDW during Pop Warner week. You need to make ADRs for eating at any TS restaurants (I would make them even if it weren't Pop Week). That was the only problem we had that week. Not getting into where we wanted to eat.

As far as the crowds, the teams have games to play during the day all week long. So the crowds are not that bad during the day. I think we waited for 45 minutes for Pooh, but all the other rides were not long wait times.

As stated before most of the children are well behaved.

Good and have a good time.

We stayed at All Star Sports during Pop Warner. The only problem we had was the cheerleaders were up really early and practicing.

We too were there during Pop Warner - a few years ago now - staying at ASMo. A few mornings we heard the cheerleaders as we were having breakfast, but as we are 'early morning/at the park before opening' people they didn't really bother us. We didn't notice them at any other time. A bonus was that the gift shop had really cute disney cheerleaders outfits - soooooo gorgeous! I'd say to stop worrying, and just go and enjoy your vacation.

We went and didn't have problems in the parks at all, only at the resort (one night only).

They book discounted rooms at All star sports and another all star, forget if it is music or movies. then some overflow in Pop i think. for those pop warner people that want a mod, they have packages at POR. which is where we were. we had screaming, runnign and crazy cheerleaders waking up our baby at 11pm at night unloading off the bus outside our room and running up and down stairs. we asked them nicely to cool it and finally had to call security.....twice. security said they had gotten MANy complaints that night. we also saw some misbehaving at the pool and the chaperon was drunk.

but that was the only bad experience and isolated for us. we saw a few football guys in the MK, but they were respectful, well behaved and had great chaperones. we rarely saw any in the parks or restaurants (other than the resort food court which was crazy crowded with them).

if you are staying at a deluxe, then don't sweat it. if you are at a mod other than POR, don't sweat it. If you are at POR or a value, just be prepared for possible late night noise and don't hesitate to call security if you need to- they did actually respond and a golf cart arrived in 5 minutes with guards telling them to quiet down and they did. I think the kids are in activities all during the day most days and only free a few nights.

but like another poster said, for every 1 bad kid, we saw 100 great ones. and it was only that one night we had issues, our other 9 nights were just fine.

we actually plan to go back during POP again in 09. it's just a great time of year- other than POP, there are low crowds, great weather, short lines and lower rates. not to mention the great holiday stuff. can't beat it. :santa:
