hi .... can someone clear up the concierge thing .. is it a separate floor or just a lounge ..... how much more per night is it to add it and would you recomend doing it ?

we have five small kids ... where are the best places to eat inside the park

at the beginning of march will the pool at the disneyland hotel be warm enough to swim in ? do they have an indoor pool?

is there a place to go that tells all about the secret keys and the hidden mickeys etc so that my kids can really have a blaST while walking around ?:D

Hi there, and welcome to the DIS! :)

I assume you're staying at the Disneyland Hotel? There is a separate concierge lounge in the Sierra Tower, and concierge rooms are located throughout the hotel. You'll have to check on the additional cost, it depends upon availability. With a family of five it's a nice extra as you can eat breakfast there each day and get evening wine and snacks.

The pools are heated, no indoor pools. Hard to tell if it will be warm enough to swim. Typically March weather has highs in the low 70s and lows in the 50s at night. That's not warm enough for ME to swim but for other folks it may be fine. :)

Enjoy your trip!

Hi Mickeymousehouse. I am leaving for DL 3/1 & I too will be staying @DL hotel. I called them direct & was quoted a rate of $185 per nite + tax for Concierge service. I had booked Hilton for $149 per nite, but since I got this rate @DL with the DC card, I have decided to stay @DL. I believe I was also quoted $155 for standard for the same time, again this was with the DC discount. I hope that helps, & maybe I will see you there. This will be mine & DH's 1st time there & we are leaving the kiddies @home. (We will be doing a big WDW & DCL trip in August). I hope hubby & I know what to do with ourselves since we won't have the kids! :( But, this will be our first vacation by ourselves in 9 years, so I can't wait! Hope the info. helps. Kathy

nuts4snoopy -- with Downtown Disney, all the great restaurants and lounges in the resorts, the spas, and the parks, you and your husband will have no trouble finding nice things to do together. Wish I could get my husband to come with me, without the kids! You will have a great time.

mickeymousehouse - inside the parks there are many kid-friendly places. Plaza Inn is a good choice. They have a character breakfast. River Belle Terrace is also a good spot, indoors or out - lots of people watching in a nice location. Redd Rocket's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland is pretty good. There is a new place called Club Buzz that has a show for kids - that might be fun to check out. There are character meals in each of the resorts. At DCA, Taste Pilot Grill got good marks from my husband and kids. There are many, many more places - you won't go hungry there. :)

you guys are so nice and helpfull.....im a little jealous on that room rate cos i know that through the travel agent we paid $245 a night<sigh>.
have any of you been to all three of the disneyland properties?what do you think?

<font color=navy>Well, I've been to DL Hotel & Grand Californian, and have been in Paradise Pier, although I haven't stayed there.

Personally, my favorite is the Grand Californian. However, I think kids would like the Disneyland Hotel better for its theming. The DL Hotel grounds are also fun. The pool is themed to Neverland, and the jacuzzi is Lil Mermaid (I think). There is a koi pond, & at 3pm they feed the koi - if you're there, they'll give you a handful of feed to feed the koi. There are some "waterfalls" and you can walk on a path behind them -- as a kid, I thought that they were sooo cool. There is a "pond" where you can steer mini Jungle Cruise boats (it costs $2, so bring a roll of quarters or two ;) ). There are also the dancing waters show every evening when it gets dark. The water dances to Disney tunes - very nice. The theme color of the hotel is lighter, so more light-hearted, I think, than the Grand Californian, which has darker, more rich colors.

I think you'll really like the DL hotel, and your kids are sure to love it.

hi thanks so much for the feedback on the hotels... we are sooooooooooooooo excited to be at the disneyland hotel. we booked through a travel agent .. is it still possible to upgrade to concierge level ? we are members of the disney club so should we wait til checkin ? also can comeone list all the advantages of concierge level again im still confooooooooooosed:D .

tiny teeny confession..... the disneyland hotel only allows 3 childeren and we will have four (but they are all little) so how will that play out if we use the concierge lounge.. do they ask for your room number etc ?
thanks !!!
