HELP!! Going crazy looking at baby carriers!!!

With my first son I used a Snugli carrier and I HATED it most of the time. With my second son I used an ultimate baby wrap and a solarveil ring sling. I liked the ultimate baby wrap but it can be kind of warm in hot weather. The solarveil one is nice and light and keeps UV rays off of the baby, but it's a tiny bit scratchy. It's really great for the pool or shower though!

For #3 I'm considering getting or making a mei tai for when they get bigger. I may buy another pretty ring sling if it's a girl:)

I think with a 3 1/2 month old, I would probably use a Hotsling or something similar to it. GL

I loved my bjorn and nursed without a problem with it!
However, I always said if we had another, I'd get a Maya...

Good luck

I disagree with you on usefulness of the Ergo's pocket though. The pocket is accessible in a front-carry (but you're right, it's hard to get to in a back carry.)

My DH and I normally carry a backpack with sunscreen and other things like wipes, diapers and whatever else we need, but I could see where the pocket would be useful.

The two things I like about the Patapum is the detachable headrest and the fact that when you are not carrying baby you can roll it up and wear it like a fanny pack.

Here are some reviews I found

Just wanted to post another vote for Maya Wrap. :thumbsup2

I tried 2 types of "snugli" front carriers and the Maya wrap was much, much easier on my back. It takes a while to learn how to use it (come with a DVD). You can buy them used & new from their website and they have a little pouch to carry things. My favorite part about it was since I had a newborn in the cold months I could leave the Maya wrap on under my coat, pull him out of the car seat and pop him in there and wrap my coat front around him and dash into the store.

Good luck & I hope you find the right carrier for you from the start! :)

Just thought I'd point out / offer up that the Beco Baby Carrier also rolls up like a bum-bag when not in use. I also had a custom trapezoidal/flap hood made (not from Gabby) that makes my Beco perfection for dd and I!
