Help getting on VMK with new IMac

zsmile just got a brand new intel based I Mac but now he can't get onto VMK. We finally figured out how to install the SHockwave but now when we try to load VMK we get and error message-something about the Director or Direct X is missing anad then another about the Xtra font is missing. Any suggestions? We have serached all over for help but nothing! We have ordered him Microsoft windows to go with it but in the meantime any help would be appreciated!

As far as shockwave you dont need to use that. I'm not sure what browser your using but go into finder then look under applications for your browser [most likely safari or firefox] search for that icon then hit the key with the apple on it and I [at the same time] for info. Then the get info screen should come up. There will be a box and next to that box it will say Open using Rosetta click so there is a check mark in there then reopen the application and it should work. If not let me know and I'll see if I can help.

Ok Batty, we went in and did all that-thank you by the way-so now it is checked to it plays Rosetta emulation (whatever that means) but still same error message. DH thinks it's because it is the new Intel based IMAC it has something to do with adobe not being written for the new IMAC but he's not sure. We can play VMK on our "older" IMAC just fine and never did have any problems. Who would have ever thought that a brand new computer wouldn't be able to play VMK! Needless to say zsmile is definitely not smiling right now. Me I play on my PC which is probably 5+ plus years old and luckily I can still get on! Thanks for the help it is m uch appreciated!

Hmm. Sorry to hear that I do remember talking with someone and hearing something about the new adobe not working on newer ones. Thankfully my laptop is a year old. Hope you figure this out, let me know what happens and what you end up doing! Good luck.

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, and I cannot seem to get VMK to work on Safari. However, I have no problems at all when I use Firefox. Try signing in with this URL:

https://secure.disney.go.com/vmk/en_US/register/index?name=LoginPage&bhcp=1

and see if Firefox works for you.

I've heard there are issues with using Mac and VMK. I can't verify this info though.

I've been using a Mac for VMK since Day One, and the only issues I've had are with Safari. Like I said above, I've no problems with Firefox. A surprising number of VMK people use Macs, so don't give up hope!

I also have a MacBook Pro with Intel but Safari works perfectly fine for me. Hagen did you try using Rosetta with Safari?

I have a Mac Mini Solo, and safari works perfectly fine for me, but I was having trouble with firefox... though firefox for some reason makes the fans over run... Idk why...
