Help! Getting MK early on 12/27

Anybody went to MK during Xmas? I need your opinion.

We are going to MK on 12/27. It'll be very crowded...so we want to get there early. We'll stay off-site. My questions is

1. When will MK be open on 12/27? How early should we arrive at the park gate?

2. How long does it take to drive from Disney's entrance to the Transportation Center?

3. How long from TTC to the MK gate? Which way is faster? Boat or monorail?

CANT HELP YOU WITH ALL YOUR QUESTIONS BUT I KNOW YOU SHOULD BE THER AT LEAST 1/2 AN HOUR BEFORE THE GATES OPEN. THE EARLIER THE BETTER. TALK WITH THE CM'S BECAUSE ONE LUCKY FAMILY GETS TO HELP OPEN DISNEY FOR THE DAY AND IT IS A FAMILY PICKED FROM THE CROWD.

I've never been on Christmas week so I don't know how things are then. Our experience has been that the ferry takes longer to reach the MK. That said, the ferry holds a lot more passengers and it seems like more people want to ride the monorail. We usually look over at the ferry dock and if a boat is at the dock or on it's way we take the ferry. If the ferry's just left and the monorail line isn't too long we take the monorail.
