Help-Getting Grass Stains out

My son got grass stains all over his favorite dark yellow sweatshirt and of course he didn't tell me about it. I guess this happened about 2 weeks ago. Last night he threw the sweatshirt in the laundry and I have tried getting the grass stains out without any luck. Does anyone have any favorite products or helpful hints I could try?

Try OxiClean in Cold water. If you dried it already the stain may have already set.

Another vote for Oxiclean. Make a solution of it with water and let it sit on the stains for awhile before you wash it. Put more Oxiclean in the washer, too.

The stuff is amazing!

I have Oxiclean but I was afraid to try it for fear it would be too strong but I'm going to use it now. I'll let you know how it works.

I did Oxiclean in HOT water, and it seemed to work better....

I did it with my sons new jeans, and well, it did well...

OxiClean is just that, oxygen.

The worse that will happen is you get a lot of bubbles. It won't damage clothes at all no matter the quantity.

If the Oxyclean doesn't do it, try soaking it in new Sports Formula Wisk, which is specially formulated for grass and ground-in dirt stains. It's a liquid detergent. Try pouring some on and leaving it there for a few hours before you re-wash.

And one more tip--do not dry the clothes in the dryer until you see some decent results from either the Oxyclean or the Wisk. Once you "dry" a stain, it's really difficult to get out.

The OxiClean worked like magic! I had to soak the sweatshirt twice but after the 2nd more concentrated soaking, the stain came out.

I knew you wonderful people on the DIS would have an answer for me.

It is quite sad when the highlight of my day is getting a stain out of a sweatshirt (haha) I think I need to start planning another trip to WDW!
