Help! Getting from the YC to EPCOT?

As many times as I have been to the World - I have never walked from the EPCOT resorts into the park. So I have many questions --

Is it a reasonalble walk from the Yacht Club to EPCOT? We will be having dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Where does the gateway empty you into EPCOT at?

Can I leave my car at the Yacht Club from a 6pm dinner reservation until a midnight PM EMH evening is over?

I don't know the answer about leaving the car, but it is an easy walk (5-10 min) from Yacht Club, past Beach club and into Epcot -- you end up between the UK and France pavilions in World Showcase.

If you find the walk seeming too long (don't know who is in your group or any limitations anyone may have) there is also a boat launch to Epcot. For the life of me, I cannot remember the order the boat takes (it stops at Swan/Dolphin, the BW, and YC/BC in some order). Then it goes to Epcot. That may be a good choice too if you find that you want to limit your walking. Enjoy your dinner - you'll love it!

Yes, it's a very easy walk -- right out the lobby toward the lake, hang a left, and just keep on walking straight ahead. Head for the Eiffel Tower. It should take 10 minutes or so.

As for parking: I know that there are signs posted saying the lot is for resort guests only, not for Epcot visitors.

But I don't know how strictly that is enforced. Two years ago, we did something similar: we went to the Poly, valet parked, had dinner at Kona, then hopped the monorail to the MK to see the fireworks, then took the monorail back to the Poly and our valet parking. And the total time elapsed was about four hours. (Resort parking is usually strictly limited to three hours.)

that say might park in BC self parking lot and just walk over to YC - BC is alot closer than YC when you are leaving that night.

We stayed at the YC for the first time this April and the walk to Epcot was the best part. It is very pretty along the lake. The OP was correct that the International Gateway is between UK and France. As far as your car, I don't see any reason why you couldn't keep it at YC--although I would park it closer to the Beach Club side since the restaurant is sort of at that side of the YC and when you come back late, your car will be closer then too.

BC is a couple hundred yards closer to Epcot than YC, which is not really a lot in the grand scheme of things. Also, if you do try to park at BC to go to the Yachtsman Steakhouse, the guard may direct back to the YC, as that is the resort in which the restaurant is located. Finally, if you do park at BC, you will have a longer walk to dinner than if you park at YC.

As for the parking issue, you are not supposed to leave you car at the resort after dinner to go to Epcot. It's up to you to what you decide to do and how concerned you are as to whether the 3 hour parking limit will be enforced.

Just outside the International Gateway entrance, which (as previous posters have said) takes you into Epcot between England and France in World Shpwcase.

It's a nice short walk along a pretty lake to Epcot, but if you want to save your legs for Epcot, go to the end of the dock right out of the lobby at the YC and a Friendship will take you on a relaxing cruise to the back entrance of Epcot.
