Help! - Frozen iPod

DH just spent a bunch of time setting up new playlists on his iPod, and all of a sudden it's frozen on pause. Pressing the play/pause button does nothing, nor does putting it on the dock. The computer doesn't even "notice" it's plugged in if he tries to hook it back up there.

If this has happened to you, or you're just an iPod genius, how do I fix it????

Press the "Home" button and the Power button at the same time. Hold both of them down until it reboots (you should see the Apple logo on the screen). Could take 3 - 7 seconds for the logo to appear.

Then release the buttons and let it reboot.

This might sound odd, but is it locked? (there's a little switch on the top of the ipod) This same event happened to me the other day- I accidentally flipped the switch when unplugging it from the computer... and when I tried to plug it back in, the computer didn't recognize it.

DD's iPod freezes frequently. We just wait for the battery to run down and all is well again.

I will try the home and power button trick next time.

Yup, holding the middle round button and menu (on the outside toggle) at the same time will reboot it. Wait until the little apple shows up and then release. We've had to do that a couple times to my DD's hand-me-down iPod.

And we've also had that problem when it was locked and someone rolleyes1) didn't notice it was locked.

Hopefully, it's just one of those easy fixes.
