OK...just a little back ground here. I am 33 and have had psoriasis since I was a baby. I know the chances of me getting psoristic arthritis are very good. The last two weeks, when I wake in the morning all ten fingers and all ten toes hurt like u would not believe. I can barely put my foot on the floor with out wincing from the pain. It actually started out with one hand and only a couple of fingers, but just seemed to spread. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, but dont want to seem like a fruit cake bringing up arthritis at my age, but I cannot seem to think about what else it could be.
What do you think...does it sound like arthritis to you?? The pain lessens throughout the day but doesnt go away, and is just as bad the next morning as it was the day before in the morning.
Thanks for any help.

It does but you really need to be seen by a doctor. I have rheumatoid arthritis and Tuesday morning when I woke up all the fingers on my right hand looked like little sausages. :( They were so swollen that I had lost some feeling but after an hour or so things were back to normal.

Arthritis can strike at any age so I'm sure your doctor won't think you're a fruit cake.

Good luck!

Hi Nelly. Sure sorry to hear about your aches and all. Ouch. I sure don't have an idea, but did want to say that arthritis sure can occur at any age, younger or older. The fact that the pain does lessen as the day goes on might be reflective of that. Just keep an open mind, ask lots of questions (if you have some now, best to write them down, easy to forget on the appointment). Also, maybe a second opinion after you see this doctor, depending on outcome. My best.

Nelly I have had arthritis since age 16 so it can strike at any age. See the doctor and ask any questions you have. YOu will not seem silly.

Don't feel silly asking your doctor about arthritis. :)

Rheumatic arthritises can start at any time, even in children. Its the osteoarthritis that is stereotyped to old people, although that knows no age minimum either.

I developed my rheumatic arthritis when I was 32. Your doctor should be able to give you some medications to make you more comfortable. :)

I would make an appointment to see your Dr ASAP. It takes awhile to diagnos arthritis (they have to rule alot of things out first). If you are starting to have pain and it ends up being Rhuematiod, you can go into a severe flare pretty quickly.

I was RX'd with RA in 2001. it started out as a sore knee, though I did nothing to injure it, so I just limped around for a day or two, then by day 3, I could not move my elbow, next next day, my other elbow. within 3 weeks I was completely immobile. (this may not happen with you, I had other health problems that delayed the start of the medication)

I do remember the fingers and toes! The WORST pain. The toe pain is really the only pain that brought me to tears!
